Brushes won't work

my brushes only show up in transparent bgs and Cloud/Difference Clouds
for example if i get the bg to black and try to brush with white nothing shows up and vice versa. same wit other colors
i use cs2

you sure your using a brush and not an eraser

yeah theres diff shape brushes available and i downloaded some abstract brushes from deviant's// i see them but only work on the places i mentioned

Your settings must be way off then, either that or you dont know what your doing

erasers use the brushes too make sure you dont have you have the brush option selected and not the eraser

k ill look at it soon. but if i am using eraser though wouldnt that erase the bg i set, because like i said nothing happens at all to the image

@TGC can you tell me how to adjust setting

take screenshots there are no settings for brushes is the flow all the way up? opiency is it all the way up?

try copying the image then pasting it in a new window

i got it, the brush was set to overlay instead of normal
another question, when you use brush do you press and drag or click individually?
also if you click each time, do you ever click on the same spot multiple times so it could get darker

everyone has there own styles i tend to click not hold
