View Full Version : Almost everybody in SEED looks the same (proof).

Allow me to explain, the people soleley define themselves by hair. They either have dyed hair, or distinguishable hairstyle (notice how every halfway important bishi has some wierd hairstyle or dyed it into some unnatural color). all the faces however, look identical (except for eye color) due to Hirai being the character designer (which is why you wouldn't be able to tell a Fafner character from a Gundam SEED character either).
Only very few people are distinguishable by face alone, most of them because they are old men or the like, Andrew Waltfeld is one of the very few lucky people who you could tell by face (and I mean even without the scar), Sting Oakley was lucky enough to have distinguishable eyes. The rest however, this includes both genders, are indistinguishable by any other known means.
So I am blind? Well then you obviously know better and should take a look at this person:

The eye color and hair (also the ones hanging into face) have been removed, meaning you cannot tell by eye color or hairstyle.
You may:
1.) Agree.
2.) Attempt to prove me wrong and vote on the correct character, if over 25% get it right, I am impressed and will admit that Hirai didn't design everybody to look the same.
3.) Chicken out with an abstain and bow before my greatness. There's a view count after all.
As you may have noticed, there are members of both genders in the poll. That is because, well, the guys don't look any different from the girls. I can promise you that the person in the picture is included among the prominent names of the poll, and that its not from Fafner and or some doujin picture.

Well, it's definitely not Orga and probably not Yzak, Clotho, Meer or Shinn. Beyond that, I really can't tell.
Hisashi Hirai's a lazy bastard. He has about three faces which he uses over and over again, just with different hair or eye color.
CASE IN POINT: Ryuho(S-CRY-ED) compared to Miguel Ayman(SEED) Exact same face and hairstyle, but different hair and eye color.
CASE IN POINT: Shinn Asuka(GSD) compared to Kazuki Makabe(FAFNER). Need I say it? Identical in appearance except for the eye color(unless Kazuki's piloting) and the fact that FAFNER's animation is an order of magnitude better than GSD's.

When its about pointless quarrels everybody is like "lawlz SEED rocks so much everything else sux" but when it comes to such situations they are suddenly awed to silence or forfeit to answer (with the exception of weehay in this case, he's got guts).

Sadly I have to agree with you there. Though it's their opinion if the show is good or not. Who are we to tell them it sucks and they should hate it. I quiet franticly think the show sucks balls but thats my opinion others think its the best thing since the first Gundam came out. Just a matter of taste and opinion.
you could've pick a better image atleast, and removing the hair and eye colour proves what? completely nothing dear, characters do not look alike in seed, ofcoarse there are IMAGES in wich they look similar and ofcoarse they are drawn similar style (wich if you dont know, is different than *identical*)

I didn't say everyone should hate it, I'm just saying it sucks and showing reasons why. If I wouldn't then it would just be empty talk of two cents of opinion.

That the faces are identical, which is stated by the fact that people can't even remotely tell who it is, or even the actual gender, there is such an array of major to semi-important characters to choose from and noone even dares to try any.If you could guess from a face with neutral expression (facial expressions do not count towards actual appearance), then they wouldn't be identical, but as it seems they absolutely are.

Just like your previous arguments, a biased statement with no facts or evidence to back it has no content. If you think otherwise then show me by voting on the correct person, or at least get someone close of appearance (like if its Lacus and most people vote on Fllay etc. then it it would be fine enough), or at least the same gender, is that possible for you?

Lemme tell you something about similiar style, thats when 2 artists draw similiar. This however, is from the SAME artist, being ONE style (in which case the characters are not drawn in *similiar* style but in *identical* style being the same style), in which faces are totally copy=>pasted.

and what u want from showing an eye with no colour and less than half of the face... LOL awsome

It shows everything needed, I mean its not like it gets any more clear if I include the other cheek.
And if you don't argue, then there is no argument against SEED characters all looking the same. I'm fine with that.

the all thread hardly proves anything exept of that some characters are similar when u look at half of face with no hair and colour, with parts of teh face deleted, lol

The face is, and will always be under Hirai. The face is the whole point of this thread and I've said from the beginning on its about face without hair and eyes, so if you complain about hair and eye color missing well, tough luck for you but thats the whole thing we're talking about.

SEED own..stop the hate!...but i guess its tru that ALL the anime character are hard to distinguish without hair and in a face close up...SO YEA SEED SUCK

uh yeah, this thread is pretty funny, the reactions of the seed fans are hilarious. And yes, this thread does prove that that every seed character basically has the same generic template. You could prolly do it with Gundam 00 as well, it just goes to show how inferior CG animation is these days.
And that picture quality is fine, there is nothing wrong with it at all.
Umm I could do that without about a 1000 different animes. This works even if the people dont look a like only a complete idiot would come up with something like this.
If in real life everyone shaved there heads had no skin color and eye color. IF you could not tell the persons height or gender...you would not be to tell who the person is.
Your theory is a dumb as you are.
Looking at your personality and how you think your so smart my best bet is that picture is kira.
