Characters of the same style do look similiar, but up to some point, they should be recognizable.
-If you are the one person who voted on Auel, that was as close as it got.
-If you voted on a male person, at least you got the right gender.
-If you voted on a female character, well... *cough*
the person was Yzak (from GS, before the scar). If you don't believe me then take a look at him when he's not on one of those pissed off tours (pretty rare around battles, but shown often enough), then you got the Hirai bishi face right there.
Inability to identify due to style has its limits whem meeting a superior character designer, for example Go Nagai, the man who invented fan service (1st naked henshin transformation scene), mecha Anime (1st robot piloted by human) and explicite violence in Anime and Manga (if you know the history of harenchi gakuen) made a vast array of characters, but anyone can tell Ryouma Nagare from Kabuto Kouji or Tsurugi Tetsuya (during the same time periods of course, recognizing 1970s Kouji from post-millenium Ryouma is obvious). Anyone can tell Kou Uraki from Anavel Gato, even though their pissed off/hate driven face is clearly recognizable as the same style (alternatively take Detrov Kossel or Kelly Lazner if Kou is too young to be compared with Gato).
While some may still persist that similiar styles are an explanation to this (it is in certain shojo comics where all guys have to be bishis that look the same... like those by Yoko Matsushita), but personally I have to say... Lacus/Meer/Fllay and Yzak? HELLO?
Looking at your personality and how you think your so smart my best bet is that picture is kira.
Fail @ deduction and knowledge of human nature, pWned.
