Bone is an underappreciated classic. It is one of, if not the best indy comic I have ever read.

Bone tells the story of the three Bone cousins: Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone, who are seperated and lost in a vast uncharted dessert after being chased off a hill by locusts. One by one they find their way into a valley filled with wonderful and terrifying creatures, and enter the classic fight between good and evil.

I love the art style. The Bones are so cartoonish looking but the backgrounds and other characters are so wonderfully drawn. And the characters are so enjoyable. Awesome story too.

Think of it as Mickey Mouse meets Lord of the Rings.

Does anyone else read this gem?

I guess its only the two of us that have read it XD although I've yet to read the last volume )=. I've actually started reading this comic since I was a kid in the ADVENTURES activity/comic books, but it is still so memorable to me. It will forever be one of my favorite comics out there and I definitely agree that it is underappreciated. On a more positive note BONE has gotten out of being an indy comic and is now known worldwide! Long Live BONE!!! XD

LOVE Bone! The dichotomy between the cartoony Bones and the realistic other characters is one of the better tropes of the comic. The sheer size of the cast and Jeff Smith's ability to bring complexity to such minor characters as Jonathon Oaks really shows how great a writer he is. The humor is hilarious and impossible not to laugh out loud at. Also, it's a genuinely engaging epic story. The concept of the dreaming is a very cool one and it doesn't hurt that there are dragons involved.

The only bad thing that can possibly be said about Bone is that there isn't more of it.
