Nope. Luppi was an official espada until pwnd by Grimmjow, and Nel wasn't demoted also, just disappeard after getting pwnd by Noitora. And so, this two are legitimate for the poll.
The privaron espada, on the other hand, were demoted before the plot of the storyline, and I don't consider them espada.

Neliel because she's hella cute as a kid (love the way she talks! lol) and still a decent soul in adult form. I personally hope he turns out to be #1 espada, with Habiel being the #2. Which would have the espada seem like a sick and twisted version of SS.

Also, anytime an old person is really strong in an anime, they are typically a pervert, drunk, or grumpy all the time. Sometimes all of the above. Which i think it would be funny in a fight between Ichigo and the old guy; Ichigo hits him with full Vizard/Banki goodness, old guy goes "Mmmm havent felt something like this since I fought old Yamma." Just my own personal thoughts.

There are a couple of espada I seem to like from the list, but it would more than likely come down to Szayel Aporro Grantz. One of the reasons he was chosen, for his overall personality. Some of those traits include a unique appearance (I simply love the pink hair and orangish eyes), in addition to the personal attire. I also admire his mannerisms, refined despite being arrogant.

Another characteristic is an attitude similar to Kurotsuchi Mayuri, a brilliant scientist that is both morbid and sadistic. Oh let’s not forget the biting sarcasm, which has a tendency to be quite funny.

Barrigan then Stark. Barrigan's blatently number 1, he mirrors Yama-iji and his first position. Japan seems to have a weird complex with realy beefed up and ripped old men. Plus as you can see on the another thread about symbolism there's an aweful lot of it in bleach... and Barrigans mask fragment is a freaking CROWN. Stark is only slightly less cool, but still pretty awesome, just how he cant really be bothered to do anything but when Aizen finally does order him to do somethign he completes it in the space of about 2 seconds. I'm a big fan of Nnoitra, even though he's dead now. In my opinion he's definitely one of the more complex, well developed espada characters. I kind of want to like Ulquiorra too but there's not much to him yet despite his numerous appearances..

My analysis of Nnoitra's character is here:
I think you'll find Nnoitra is actually one of the more complex characters we've seen. On the surface he is arrogant and bloodthirsty, but from the flashbacks we can see that he is tremendously insecure. He hates those he believes to be inferior, yet at the same time Nnoitra knows that he himself is inferior to those above him.

The result is a deep seeded self hatred that drives a death wish. His constant search to do battle with stronger opponents is really a search for someone to release him from the inferiority of his own existence.

Of course, that's just my opinion, but I believe it can be substantiated.

Ulquiorra Schiffer. By far the most interesting and coolest espada, not because he boasts and is a loudmouth, but because he does everything with such confidence. If he says he is stronger than someone, you know it's true.

Grimmjow is my favorite Espada. He seems to have the qualities of an anti-hero (a tough good guy, sometimes tough to an exaggerated extent, like Vegeta from DBZ). I think that out of the current bad guys, he has the most potential of becoming a good guy. He also doesn't really take orders willingly, even from Aizen.
