Akai Shuichi from Detective Conan [Possible Spoilers]

So he's clearly dead in chapter 612. And in the end of chapter 621 Conan doesn't seem sad at all about this news, quite the contrary he was smiling confidently that there's nothing to worry about regarding Shuuichi's death.
As of now is there any explanation about whether Shuuichi is alive or not?
I'm flipping through the chapters here...having limited sources for the newest chapters...

If Conan's smiling like that, then Shuuichi's probably still alive. The one that Conan lent his house to, that sneaky guy, could be Shuuichi in disguise.
