did a search; if this has been talked about, a nice slap to the wrist would suffice.

Anyway, despite the topic being something possibly of fandom/fanon, I've been wondering this since I first watched GW. In one of the episodes (TV, not movie), it was stated that it had been 200 years since the first space colony was created.

The show(s) are based off of a hypothetical future Earth and space. So how long do you think it took the human race to get from where it was at the time GW was created, to the first space colony (in the AC Universe)? Hypothetically speaking of course.

Never. In a UC, there is Minovsky Dispersion that ended the Dreadnaught era and started the MS warfare, CE has N-Jammers bringing up the whole shebangabang. In the AC, it is utterly ignored why humanoid robots should make any sense, leave alone ones with scythes and shotels, AC is and stays the era that tries to be realistic - and fails at it (G Gundam also fails at realism, but it never tried to achieve that which gives it right in own style). Honestly, even if the whole Minovsky theory f the UC thing would be correct, its questionable that any gundam ever will happen beyond the beginning of UC manga series "Developers Notes", in which MS are freshly invented and first get used as working machines.

If it hypothetically happens, then take the UC as guideline since it has a background unlike most AUs, the 1st Space Colony supposedly started construction some time around 2045 in old UC timelines (which has been withdrawn by now, since that was in the 1970s-80s when they made that up), the UC technology pulls even with the Gundam W protagonist units (not the Leos, they seem even more primitive than Zaku II...) technology somewhere between 0093 (Char's Counterattack) and 0099 (Moon Crisis), so that would be approx ~2150.

Wow, a lot of info there. I've only watched GW, so I don't know what most of what you said is...but you surmise 2150? Interesting. It's something that has been on my mind for a looong time.

But I'm only talking about the space colonies in the Gundam Wing AC time line, and not when the first mobile suit was made (though now I am thinking about that).

I get what RP is saying and now that I think about it, the Leo's do seem more primitive than the Zakus, lol

They kind of are but at the same time they look like a mass production prototype for more units when you look at them compared to some of the other MS that came out in the series.

Nope, Tragos are older. Leos are pride and joy of OZ and are the pinnacle of technology, they should be able to take out the Gundams, the Stardust Knights say so XDDD

But seriously, all MP units serve as prototype for something at some point. Especially when it gets as cheap as only being a humanoid form mech, xcept the Zeon had Monoeye sensors on the Zaku I already (the Titans adapted them as Zeon tech guys made MS for them, so apprantly the standard feddie "sunglasses screen" are inferior at that point). Feddies are forced to turn their heads and Leos... they can't even do that. They rely on the usual sensors and all that instead of visuals only because there is no Minovsky interference to screw them.
