Loved the whole turn of events where Yuuki was revealed to be the Kuran's true blood offspring and Kaname is actually an ancestor revived but Rido. There is just so much going on now in the manga, I'm dying for a new chapter. :amused:

umm, the latest episode was 5, and in that we see Zero's a vamp, she gets her bracelet, goes to the moon party, and he met zero's teacher, then it's a cliff hanger for the next episode, so we are around chapter 8 or 9. I think.

I don't think I'm part of this FC (I've been gone for a long time so I forget!) but omg I have to join!! I've been reading VK since the manga started being published in Shojo Beat but then caved in and read all the recent chapters on-line and omg... what a good manga. The anime is living up to my standards too so far ^_^
Soo in the last chapter ...Ichiru shoots Zero huh? It was only in the shoulder but i wonder who, if anyone is going to come save him. I have a feeling it will be Kaname since he needs Zero to stop his uncle but I dunno.. I'm so sad that Yuuki is turning away from Zero... I was rooting for them this whole time :(

So for those who are fully updated with the manga what do you think of Kaname now that you know the truth? Here's what I think
I used to favor Zero other Kaname but now I kinda feel bad for both... but I mean poor Kaname having to watch his sister grow up with out her knowing he was her brother or anything and watching her fall in love with Zero ( I'm convinced Yuuki loves Zero!). However, I think in a sense, its like a twisted plot because he let Yuuki be close to Zero so that he wouldn't lose her but I think also he let her be close so then he could manipulate Zero into killing his uncle since he can't do it himself.

Ahhh there are just too many factors and I'm dying to find out how it is going to play out.. I wonder how close to the end this manga is

I was always pushing for Zero as well and still I am but I feel for Kaname. However, his manipulations of everyone really makes me hate him. Also, I thought Yuuki was falling in love with Zero but now I am not too sure. She might love Kaname just like she did when the manga first started. Also, Kaname wants her to be his bride. I doubt he will let her go easily even if she does love Zero.

I agree that I thought Yuuki was falling in love with Zero.. but one of two things. First, maybe her love for him was more of a protector and mother than of a lover and secondly, maybe when she awakened and remembered her past since she already liked Kaname now she would feel even worse for him so will stay with him out of pity/obligation? I dunno... I have a feeling that Yuuki will run to save Zero and then Kaname will get mad and kill him because he can't take Yuuki being with him anymore... hmmm would make for an interesting ending. I just hope this manga doesn't get dragged out for too long because so far every chapter has been very fast paced and I dont want it to get boring

Sorry if this was long but I'm like obsessed with this manga right now!

If you like this you should read Bitter Virgin. Not about vampires but good story. It just takes forever for new chapters.

The anime looks really well done, much better than I expected. It really just looks like the manga was directly animated :D My only complaint is that I imagined Kaname's voice being lower, but oh well.

here's a brief rant about it all...

so first of all... I have to say that I still can't believe Yuuki is Kaname's sister! and atop of that he still wants to marry her!!
yeah I know it was already said that the marriage of siblings amongst pure-bloods are quite common... but she would fit so much better with Zero! ...well uhm, so I thought until now. >_> (I think she should rather be killed off by Rido.)

you see.. I liked Yuuki a lot at the beginning... but now I dislike her. I really think that she doesn't even deserve the care she's getting from Zero. if she really meant what she said after her awakening... that the old Yuuki has been eaten up by her vampire-self and that she just used him... ahhh it's so disappointing and enraging!! :mad: (*if* she was telling the truth anyways...)

I am very curious what will happen in the 40th chapter! it would be kinda ironic if in the end Zero would defeat Rido... well..I'm looking forward to it!:amused:

See, I love VK but since I was originally just following it monthly I was never completely hooked but then I caved in and started reading it on-line and then I ended up reading...and re-reading it all in a day haha

Here's my thought on Yuuki:
I agree that she doesnt deserve Zero! I mean... he's been all alone, his family killed by vampires, then he gets turned into one, the brother who he always took care of turned bad and hates him.. and now... the one person that he cared for is a vampire too and has turned her back on him as well. Although I read somewhere that people think Yuuki said that stuff because Zero pointed the gun at her so that was her reaction to act like she didn't care... but I mean DUH, of course Zero is going to be upset!

I just love love love this manga. You know, a lot of shoujo manga can be very predictable but I think this one just keeps you guessing and I'm sure there are still a lot of surprises!

I had to correct you, actually Kaname & Yuuki are not siblings. If you reread Kaname says to Zero "he wishes he was her real brother." Then all those flashback explained it. From what I gather Rido took the Kuran's first born (Yuuki's real brother), and killed/used him to revive an ancestor (our current Kaname). That is why Kanme CAN NOT kill Rido as he is his creator. I haven't the slightest clue as to how Kaname the Ancestor got back to the Kuran house hold though...

As to Yuuki after her awakening. Come on... all the sudden you realize you are a Vampire and are forced to remember the HORRIBLE incident involving the slaughter of your parents at the hands of your uncle. Her mothers sacrifice was extremely gruesome and all for her sake... Not only that being thrust at you but now you are exactly what your most valued friend despises... a Pureblood Princess... Can you imagine what is going on through that head of hers?! Her self esteem is probably at -48, she now thinks she's been deceiving the world she'd been living in and that she has no right in being friends with either Zero or Sayori (her best friend/dorm mate). You can see this by the way she reacted to Sayori in that last chapter... To me her reaction after her awakening is what gives her character more depth and makes her interesting. I dunno I would cut the poor Gal some slack!

okay, she indeed had to face a LOT of terrible things all of a sudden... but despite all the horrors she had to go through and all the pain she must have felt... don't know... I didn't think it would have that radical effects on her...

if I would have had to go through these things I might have reacted the same but I always thought that she is much stronger in heart and character than she is being shown... I guess deep down I was hoping that intense attachment to Kaname will losen up a bit and she will be able to deal with things on her own and thus becoming more independent! (though that can still happen...) :unsure:

I think the reason why I don't like Kaname is that he's being overly protective and possessive with her... eh... it's really not to my liking that's why I'd prefer if she ended up with Zero instead. :amused:

Well Kaname is being a big brother/lover to Yuuki and is just extremely over protective.

Rido on the other hand would be EXTREMELY powerful in the Vampire community if he had the only surviving Kuran for a bride. Seems the Kurans are the highest ranked Vampires of the Purebloods as they were the "First" if I understand this correctly. As we all know Rido is a very power hunger Vampire who seems to wants supreme reign over all Vampires and take over the Council.

okay, she indeed had to face a LOT of terrible things all of a sudden... but despite all the horrors she had to go through and all the pain she must have felt... don't know... I didn't think it would have that radical effects on her...

if I would have had to go through these things I might have reacted the same but I always thought that she is much stronger in heart and character than she is being shown... I guess deep down I was hoping that intense attachment to Kaname will losen up a bit and she will be able to deal with things on her own and thus becoming more independent! (though that can still happen...) :unsure:

I think the reason why I don't like Kaname is that he's being overly protective and possessive with her... eh... it's really not to my liking that's why I'd prefer if she ended up with Zero instead. :amused:

well now this was unexpected... at least for me.:unsure:

wow where to begin... uh so... at first I thought I finally got it right: Ichiru did not actually betray his parents and Zero, he sided with Shizuka to finish off the true killer who was responsible for the death of her lover and so Ichiru's parent's as well... but then..... I realized that's not the case.
the way I see it, he thought his parents did not love him, well not as much as they loved Zero and pretty obviously, for that reason he felt himself miserable.... and then came along Shizuka, who was just as much hurt as he, who was being kind with him... he must have felt akin with her and so that's why he have come to adore her so much...

hmm though there's something I don't understand, why didn't Ichiru fill in Zero with his plans??! I mean... he wanted to kill Rido... practically he was the one because of whom his parents have died. why letting Zero build up all that hatred for Shizuka when he could have simply told him the truth and thus become stronger together?? Zero would surely have understood it all and wouldn't have wanted to kill her afterwards.:huh:

and about Zero... damn, I feel sorry for him... I really do.:sad: living through his entire life in such guilt... knowing that his loved one is not getting what he'd deserve solely because of him.... it must be one of the top 5 most horrible feelings...

hmm, I am completely caught up so let me say this: OMG! WOW!

I really have to say that Zero, is quite amazing, I mean I felt bad for him having to live with all that guilt about his parents being killed four years ago and being turned into a vampire then as well. It seemed that the only thing that made him himself again was Yuuki, and then to have to find out she was a vampire the entire time and a pure-blood also, wow! I still can't believe Kaname and his plans to marry Yuuki, even though they are siblings, I mean I get that they are vampires and so it's supposed to be different then it would be if they were humans but damn! eww!

1. Zero sucking Yuuki's Blood, personal opinion so no offense anyone

I am with renishi on this one. After her first time, it looked as if she found pleasure in it and it is kind weird that she is feeling whatever sensation from pain and losing blood. On another forum, we find it weird that every one of these scenes is (don't want to use this word) "erotic". I still cannot think of what they trying to imply.

2. INCEST!!!:yelling: First time I have used smile after being on forums for 5 years.

I do not want to make anyone seem arrogant, but there is only one improtant reason for incest. Honestly Kaname does not have a choice. If the Kurans are remain "Purebloods", then he has no other choice but to marry Yuuki. That is the only way for the Kuran blood to remain "Pure".

That is very true, there is only one pureblood clan as an option though: Sara of Shirabuki. The thing is I am getting implication that Kurans want to remain as just Kurans without any outside DNA. If he does not marry Yuuki the "Pure Blood of the Kurans" may disappear after thousands of years and since Kaname is the first Kuran, he is able to make sure with this "rule" that the blood of the Kuran family will run forever without any outside influences. It will always be Kuran without any dispute.
