Latest effort, think I'm getting the hang of photoshop now, a Lucy sig, which I'm quite proud of. :amused:

I really like the first one in your original post. Also your font choices on most seem reasonable, some are even very good. (What I will say text wise is that I can't read the text on the wonderwies one at all).

The one you made for your mate Judgedread: - Maybe change the background colour slightly? So it matches her hair more? It may just be me but that pink seems to clash with the render rather. Nice effect though, but the text looks a little out of place.

This one has some good blending in it, and you already seem to be making good progress. :smile:

The krumu-chan one could do with a little more depth but I really like the colours.

Your latest though looks very flat. There isn't really a focal. It also looks a bit blank on the right hand side.

Keep going though, some of your sigs are very good for someone just starting out. Personally I'd say my fave is the krumu-chan one, but from a GFX point of view I'd say the one I quoted. :smile:

Cheers for the comments, and yeah the text on the Lucky Star Akira sig was what he wanted, I thought it looked a bit odd too.

Nice. I think I might start making some anime sigs now, rather than just the simple manga colored ones. I just don't want to suck at it. lol.

Haha, only way to get better at them is to practice. First couple will most likely turn out a bit odd but when you get used to what each action does it gets smoother to do. Just fuck about with different things for a bit.

That Mayuri piece is really interesting, I honestly like it. I do think the pit of c4d over his face could be gotten rid of and the text could match teh render more but overall I think it's great.

Your newest is nice as well, though a little washed out. I don't know if the font works though, but you're doing very nicely imho.

These are are very nice as well imo. The colors are great and I like the idea behind them, but they are a bit messy and any flow is hard to distinguish. Text placement could use improvement as well, like in the first second sig, his title is right by his face. =\

Nice, I like the Clare one a lot, just maybe a little too many details. All the curves draw attention away from the picture. (Me thinks).

Goddamn, Solo. I haven't been to this thread in a while but I see you've been doing extremely well since. I love your "Spawn" sig, the smudging and flow is great and I like the afterburn trailing from his claw. Keep up the good work, man.

I personally disagree. For anyone really interested in GFX and getting into the industry, i.e Graphics Design, Multimedia, etc. Working on small canvas is not good enough. Good for starting off perhaps, i.e sigs are great to start off with but later on it'll be best to move on to bigger canvas bit by bit.

Keep up the good work, Funsolo. I'm liking the Spiderman sig. :smile:

I mean you're still doing well, Solo, but I feel like it's time to go a bit further. You've gotten skilled with smudging/flow so far, now it's time to an extra touch, maybe a clipping mask here or there, or a c4d. Try to make sure it follows the flow though, and don't be afraid to experiment with any extra FX to see what can be done. Also, you should be a bit more careful about render selection imo, there are so some renders out there that have so much going on in them that when used, your entire sig is bound to look messy as well.

Also, canvas size really just depends on what the artist is comfortable with. Small sigs can be messy, just like big sigs can. It really just depends on what the artist can work with.
