Help with an AMV

hey guys i need help with an AMV
i use WMM and Sony Vegas but my vegas hasn't been working and i can't put any good effects in my AMV so can some help i need a good free video effects editor with really good effects like sony vegas.
Any help will be appreciated

adobe premiere pro is one of the best. but you need to have a good computer (especially a big memory and a good graphic card). try it.. some say premiere pro is even better than sony
