So, i have seen alot of translations from Japanese into english, but none of the Spanish names for hollow things translated into english, so here goes, the only ones i could think of off the top of my head, post more if u know em, or ask for translations if you think i missed one:

Espada = Sword
Arrancar = To Begin
Hueco Mundo = Desert World
Las Noches = The Nights
Cero = Zero
Gran Rey Cero = Great King´s Zero
Fraccion = literally means fraction, but n spanish can be used to describe a group of soldiers
Sonido = Sound

Like i said, just the ones off the top of my head, and if anyone asks what any of those things are from the show then you dont belong on a bleach fan forum

The arrancar being used here is "to pull out" or "to tear off" (thus, Hollows that have pulled off their masks are called Arrancar).

Hueco Mundo is actually literally "Hollow World".

Espada just means "Sword"; the kanji used in Bleach reads "10 Swords". For instance the kanji used for "Cero" (which means Zero) reads "Hollow Flash".

Resurreccion is "Resurrection".

These are actually Sado's abilities:
=====
"Brazo Derecho del Gigante" is "Right Arm of the Giant"

"Brazo Izquierdo del Diablo" is "Left Arm of the Devil"

"La Muerte" is "The Death", although the Japanese kanji reads "attack of the devil".

espada = sword
arrancar = take off with fury/rip off/tear off
ressurecion = ressurection
Brazo Derecho del Gigante = Right Arm of the Giant
brazo izquierdo del diablo = left arm of the devil
hueco mundo = hole world (yes, hole world, not hollow world)
gran rey cero = great king's zero
sonido = sound
fraccion = fraction or soldiers (a 'fraccion of soldiers' for example) like in an army there are some renegade soldiers, those would bethe fraccion, it can also mean the elites
las noches = the nights

no, it does not. Espada, literally, is "sword" - I have family who's Spanish.

Aye; the confusion comes from the assigned kanji, "十刃", which does mean "Ten Swords".

Better than say... a Spanish person?

You, my friend, are trying to translate literally, with regards to hole/hollow. I'm no Spanish wiz myself, but I know a bit about tranlating other languages, particularly that one is far better off trying to translate the general inference that a word contains, than trying to translate it literally. As for Hollow and Hole, they are, at least in the english language, pretty much interchangeable, "a hollow" is also a noun, not just a verb. Thus a hole (ie. cave) in the side of a mountain can also be described as a hollow. So STFU.

Huecos is holes.

As for your translator, try typing in an actual phrase, like:
"llene los huecos"

50/50 % chance you'll be surprised.

also, check out the espada's release names. Off the top of my head one of them was gemelos -twins. I think it was the pumpkin guy.

I speak Spanish, it's my main language, and Hueco means both Hollow and Hole depending on the context which it's used.

Gemelos is what the pumpkin guy called his ability to crate clones from Sonido. His ability from his released form was called Amor which means love.

*Edit:
Also I've never hear fraccion being used to describe a soldier not even as a synonym. Soldier in spanish means Soldado.

^oh that would make sense.
gemelos-twins-he creates clones(twins) from his sonido.
=) thanx.

Also, as they were introducing the HM arc, I noticed that there was some spanish that I hadn't heard before - or quite like it. I was wondering, is that because it is rarely used or just sort of made up?

*ak!* confused!

hmm... my memory is rather foggy so I'm not sure as to what you are referring to, could you be more specific? Like who says it and at what point?

*Edit:

Ah, wait, I think I might know what you're referring too. I remember one of the hollows that came with Grimmjaw his release was Tijerillas (iirc). He was the guy with the claws, I believe he was fighting Histu. I remember having to rewind the episode cuz I did not fully understand what he said. Tijerrillas means little scissors, but that word is rarely used if ever where I'm from (Puerto Rico). Tijeras (scissors) is the word that we normally use, and Tijeras Pequeñas to refer to them as little scissors.

they are mentioning the release power of each person. Sado when he gained the power of his right arm while he was fighting Gantenbainne Mosqueda 107th Espada AKA Mr Disco Looking guy. who Sado defeated and then while "outside" Nnoitra came along and kicked his ass a lil bit more. Hence why 4th Division Captain Unohana Retsu and Vice Captain Kotetsu Isane was healing him and Mosqueda. Anyways Sado's word to release that power for his right arm was something like "diablo" meaning, the devil or something to that extent.

Nnoitra when he released his power. He said the word "Prey" With the Shinigami who have achieved Bankai. When it comes time for the bankai power to be used. They all say "Bankai" Then they got that extra kick to their power. With the Espadas they use a "special word" to release their power. And from my understanding from what I have seen. Sado and the Espadas, their "special word" seems to always be in Spanish, not Japanese or English, why I do not know.

The arancar's release word, which I assume is what you're talking about is actually in Japanese. The name of their sword is in Spanish.

Example:
Grimmjaw - Kishire(Japanese for Grind), Pantera(Spanish for Panther)
Neliel - Utae(Japanese for Declare), Gamuza(Spanish for Antelope-the animal)

I don't like to be corrected and you probably don't either but just saying; arrancar is as you say, to begin, but Tite Kubo uses the other meaning of the word arrancar in Bleach, which is to rip off, which sounds logical because arrancar are hollows who have ripped off their masks. Also, desert would actually be desierto in spanish so you're translation of Hueco Mundo is wrong. Hueco Mundo would be translated into Hueco= Hollow and Mundo= World so it would be Hollow World. I don't want anyone mad at me but I'm just want people to get the right info.

I don't know if this has been brought up but... what kind of Spanish is Tite Kubo using? Spanish language from Spain or from North and South American countries? Spanish is a little different from the one from Spain and the spanish from western countries.

i think it's mostly european spanish. i think that "santa teresa" is an alternate name for the praying mantis that stems from the iberian peninsula.

LOL, as if KT would know the difference. He probably just uses babelfish.

The main difference between "european" and "american" spanish are the regionalisms (although you can't really separate this into just european and american, since there are also a lot regionalisms in the different american countries) and the conjugation of verbs. But since what are being used are loose words you couldn't really say if it's one or the other.

Attack: mousie devorar pluma

Like I said, babelfish...

Findor Carias:
Release: Pinsaguda: pinsa=??? aguda=sharp, goda=tweezers, Probably 'sharp pincers' would be my best guess.

It's "Pinza Aguda", and it means "Sharp pincer".

Also, I would like to clarify something else. It's not "Cero Oscuras", it's "Cero Oscuro". Just another big shit the mangaka took on foreign languages.

Not that anyone cares, but here are some more spanish translations.

Gran Caida = great fall, could also be maybe 'great downfall' or something similar. I'm assuming the former since it is a guillotine, and the former would be a more suitable title.

Projectile Azule = probably romanji for Proyectil Azul = blue bullet/projectile
Tiburón = Halibel's release is 'shark'

Los Lobos = is of course the wolves.

Mala Suerte means bad luck.

Other languages,however, are not like english.

If you were to say Mala Suerte to someone, it could mean the following.

1.) How unfortunate
2.) A disapproval of chance
3.) Bad chance
4.) Bad luck
5.) A negative fate I.E. Death.

And a whole host of other things like unhealthy, bad (in general), wrong, difficult, disorder.

"Proper" Spanish from Spain.

The best way I describe it is how we speak "English" in America but it's a dialect. "Proper" English is that of Britain or England.

To be honest, I have a lot of Hispanic friends. It is a lot easier (in my opinion) to learn and understand the "improper" Spanish Language.

How come Japanese is so similar to Spanish o.o?

I also ask myself the very same question.

Mostly the pronunciation is really similar. The vowels sound exactly the same... the 2 languages unlike english are easy to read because words almost never have a different pronunciation depending of some strange rules ............just make some spanish speaker who is oblivious to any kind of japanese read some romaji lyrics and the pronunciation should be almost perfect...with the exception:
"H" in japanese is like H in english
H in spanish is mute and sometimes sounds like "J"...

and that's the most obvious difference I can find.

I also have heard some words in japanese that are exactly the same in spanish....such as:

Patron = Boss
Pan = Bread
Manto = cape ( actually Heard it from Uryuu)

I have had this project of making a webpage with audio for the correct pronunciation of spanish words in Bleach....
The idea is to make a list with the spanish word, meaning in english , kanji and meaning....and the pronunciation in Mexican Spanish and Spanish from Spain in Male and Female voices.

Do you think such a page would be useful or should I just abandon the project?
