Well, If you're the type that wants to get it over the fillers and want to continue on the main plot then choose manga. Besides, Manga is waay better than the anime, imo. You'll see acual fights.

I've been reading anime since I saw all Bleach episodes and I can discover that manga isn't as good as anime because I like watching battles in animation.

I read the manga for the story and the art. If there's a good fight, like Ulquoirra versus Grimmjow, I'll watch that, but I prefer the manga overall, since they stick so much shit in the anime nowadays.

Agree. Because READ the actions in manga seems to be a bit dull and confusing, so it is better to WATCH it.

I do both, watch and read. Because if you read, you will know the story in Bleach more advance than in the anime.

^Agreed!

I was going to say anime but after all these manga posts I think ill start reading while I wait for the anime to catch up some.
^That's how I started out too. I decided to read the manga starting at the beginning. Often when there's no Anime a new manga chapter comes out so I get a little bleach each week. Plus the story lines are usually separated by a lot of time so it's almost like reading/watching two different things- both bleach!

Hard to say. I love the movement and voices in anime, but I hate the fillers in there. The manga is the original story, but sometimes it can be hard to grasp the events without movement. I can't say one is better than the other, really.

the only reason i like manga is why i can learn more things than the anime :P
and the only reason i like anime is because the way they present the fights xD
so its a hard call for me :amused:

Wow, it would be hard to pick just one, I have to say that I agree with most of the board, read the manga for the details, usually better backstory, and no filler but fights are much better animated, and in many cases are usually longer than the few pages they get in a manga.

Wras
10-24-2008, 11:59 AM
I prefer the manga, even for the fights. Don't get me wrong there's the occasional good voice actor or catchy opening, and everybody loves color, but the anime makes it feel 'stale' personally. Having faithful, almost frame-by-frame adaptation is cool but at the same time (like when characters are running) it just seems to fall short. The "feel" of the manga, I guess, is why I prefer it.

AngelicEnforcer
11-04-2008, 04:34 PM
The manga pwns the crap out of the anime in terms of quality and lack of "cheesiness" (ex: Ichigo thinks outloud to himself like a bad Speed Racer episode).

But lots of people prefer the audio/visual in 25min. increments. Don't know why though... animation is terrible, you can tell it was originally a manga. I mean look at the quality of GITS* then look at bleach and you'll see what I mean.

Was also originally a manga, but got skilled animators to draw up the show.

I don't know actually. I like it the way it is- first reading the manga, then watching it full action it the anime. As for the japanese releases (which I read and watch) there is at least one year difference between the manga and the anime, cuz of all the fillers, which means if there wasn't the manga, I'd go totally crazy.

Anime with the plot of the Manga >>> Manga but
Fillers in Anime <<<<<<< Manga.
I mean chopper ate 2 rumble balls in a row in a One Piece filler when later on in the Manga he said "I can't eat more another rumble ball within six hours after I already consumed one" I was like What the heck????

Plus Zommari dodged Byakuya's lightning and Byakuya can move as fast as Zommari that means Byakuya > Lightning speed, and Ichigo moves faster than Byakuya so that puts him at Ichigo speed >>> Lightning speed right?

But in the fillers, when Kariya uses lightning, Ichigo can't dodge it. Stupid fillers. Anime+Manga story is the best. But Anime Fillers sux.

Personally i prefer the manga its kubo's original story and art seen the way he wanted us to. The anime on the other hand is based on the manga but completly out of Kubo's control so as far as the anime goes Kubo doesn't have much do to with it, i mean they in theory could do what they wanted to the anime. The anime is also good but with all the censoring and quick animation leaving some episodes looking sloppy, which i see as butchering the original story and art and i wouldn't appreciate that to much if i was the author of somthing. So although it is great to watch the story play out animated and in color the said set-backs make me prefer the manga.

This is an easy question. Manga by far, the anime is seriously inconsistant in its portrayal of the manga and often doesnt get this quite right. Kubo on the other hand is pretty good at staying at a high level of drawing skill.

lol @ the manga fillers by orihime :P

Well reading manga online is a lot more comfortable than watching anime because if you watch anime, you have to watch it all the way through because otherwise, your concentration is broken if you keep pausing it. Instead, with manga you can always flick the pages back and refresh your memory so that's an added advantage in addition to skipping out the boring fillers that make you want to drop following that particular series.

Outrageously depends on whats happening. Most fights I prefer in the manga since the anime changes them around a lot. I think the only fight I prefer in the anime is 'Desperate Effort V.S. Desperate Effort' (ichigo v.s. grimmjow third fight) in the manga it seemed to be hard to represent the actual closeness and destruction of the fight, while the anime did it fairly well. So overall, manga.

I'd go for Manga...

Well first of all, Manga is basically a book and you’re actually reading instead of mindlessly watching television. I’m going to assume that most people who read library blogs like to read somewhat. Also you can start or stop reading whenever you want to. Manga is portable which is in my opinion a big plus. You can take Manga to school if you want to, or to the park (I don’t know why you would want to bring a Manga book to the park…BUT it’s nice to have options :P ). Pictures allow you to use your imagination instead of having all the animation done for you.

skorpion_02
09-23-2009, 01:18 AM
i prefer the manga too.

For one, I like reading much more than watching. It allows your imagination to roll. Its sort of healthy exercise for creativity.

And the manga is the real thing. You dont have to endure watching the anime's fillers yet you get the story. Its like getting straight to the point instead of running around the bush.

Though I still watch the anime for the OSTs (Bleach just have so wonderful OSTs!), I still prefer the manga 100%.

XDD

It's a real shame that Bleach came off as a shounen anime. If they went with the regular style, they had, in my opinion, a top notch anime (I know, each to his own, but since you're reading this it means you like the series as well), but no, they had to turn it into a cash machine... It could all fit in some, let's say, 100 episodes, taken that the first arc, the soul society arc is pretty much great, "filler" episodes where fresh and funny, and 60 episodes for that arc is a decent number.

What the audience would get in 100 episodes is - on-point story, action INTENSE, great plot, MUCH better quality animation and drawing, and an all-around great anime. This way, as you all know, it gets pretty messy already by the time the bounto arc kicks in. The drawing from there on is simply child-level. Got better recently tho. I still can't help but feel the bitterness whenever I think how could it could've turned out.

Yeah, by know it's pretty clear that I went with the manga :) I stopped watching bleach when the "little teahouse princess" arc came in. That was just too much to handle. Since then, I get updates from friends on which episodes are manga-related and watch me a few of those, see some fights, and then back to manga it is :)

Manga. No fillers, true, and far ahead. I certainly prefer manga, but i also still watch the anime. if a fight or something i really wanted to see animated is released, or a friend tells me to watch a specific episode, ill watch but the manga is better. Basically, Anime for action, Manga for the rest.

Anime. Its not too far behind (it is because of this that we are getting the current filler arc).

I really like the design of the manga but i'll go with anime. The music makes it much more epic during battles and much more breathtaking during sad moments. Plus the voices of the actors make it more passionate and real. And the colours make it, well, more colourfull ^.^

The manga is good but the virtual effect in anime and its sound track make them awesome!
therefore i prefer anime

The anime is good because it gives a way better visualisation of your favourite scenes than the manga does, but in the end I think the manga is the better because it keeps to the point (where as the anime prefers jumping as far as it can away from the point sometimes) and because you can see Tite Kubo's drawings!

if the manga and anime were on the same chapter/episode people would stop reading the manga because in my opinion i would rather see ichigo vs. uliroqqoajfalfjfl (idk how to spell it) than read it.

Manga, by a lot. I only watch the anime for a little bit of flavour material.

Anime for the kewl fights that they get from the manga, and manga for the clear story :)

I love anime because the reason I like manga in the first place is the epic fighting!!!...So seeing it animated makes it rule even more.

So anime FTW
