I am new so I am sure this has probably been asked before. But i would be really interested how gundam other people build as I only have 2 other friends who build them here.

How many have you built?
Do you ink in the lines?
Do you use the paint pens?
Do you airbrush them? (if so you are hardcore!)

I have built 26 gundams including one perfect grade zaku, 2 1/60s, and loads of 1/100 and 1/144. Pretty much my entire apartment is decorated with them making me uber otaku. I will admit my addiction is easily fed as a giant gundam shop is only a 15 minute walk from my apartment in Den Den town.

On a side note I have also built 2 evangelion and 2 mini-gundams as well.

I will take a pic sometime and post it on here. Especially of zaku which took over 3 days to build and detail.

that gp02 looks pimp.

i've built 3 models but i'm fuckin lazy, so i never paint etc. i ended up just giving them to my bro as a result.

i did get lucky enough to find the model kits for the fucking lazy like me lol. the hcm pro line.

they're 1/200 so they're only like 4.5 inches tall but they have astonishing detail. and the most u usually have to put together is the guns. i fucking love them...its perfect for me. damn near master grade detail, with next to no work and they don't take up much room.

i got three so far and a fourth on the way. one is amuro's white zeta gundam (its actually in my "still not a gundam noob" banner under a spoiler tag in my sig. i also have the hi nu gundam which is fucking badass, and the gouf custom. the one on the way is the original rx 78.

1/100 death scythe hell custom from endless waltz (is sooo bad ass in every way)
1/100 master grade freedom (those hands were just a bitch to do god.)
1/100 infinite justice (first one i did and it turned out well)
1/100 Sting's gundam from gundam seed destiny forgot the name.

I've done several myself.

1/100:
Wing Gundam Zero
Gundam Heavy Arms Custom
Gundam Epyon
Altron Gundam
Gundam Deathscythe Hell

1/144:
Gundam Sandrock Custom
Gundam Sandrock
Wing Gundam Zero Custom

I always paint regardless if it comes the correct colors, and usually I will accent the small lines with a fine high quality ball point pen (A lot cleaner outcome.) I have no pics right now, they used to be on display. I had to box them all away for now though, the room I had them in used to be my "green" room. It was turned into a nursery when my daughter was born. Otherwise I would take some pics of them. I wished the Gundam Wing series models were still available, they were discontinued in 2003 :( They're pretty tough to find now a days.

Mass production of the Gundam Wing molds were discontinued by Bandai around 2003. Sure, you can find a few here and there online of the original molds if you're lucky. However it won't come from the best source. HLJ.com (Hobby link Japan) located in Japan is one of the biggest suppliers of Gundam models in the world. All Gundam Wing models are on back order due to the d/c, and will stay that way until the GW marketing finds it profitable to mass produce the molds again. I contacted hlj about this a few years back. The easiest to find is the master grade Wing Gundam Zero (It's huge) due to it's hefty $200.00 price tag. I believe that is the only model they still produce for Gundam Wing.

Epyon's the only muther I've ever needed, although i'd like to get my hands on a Wing Zero Custom angel wings, simply because those wings are so damn mint.

These are the ones I've built. Never bothered to paint them. Just used the decals that came with them...

1/144 HG Wing Zero Custom
1/144 HG Deathscythe Hell Custom
1/144 Wing Gundam

I wanted to detail/ paint the models, but that was a huge investment that I knew I would probably drop. Like Cracker, I bought the HCM-Pro models. They are already painted and have a huge level of detail. I currently have Wing Zero, Destiny, and the Special Paint Nu Gundam. I plan to get the Special Paint Exia, Freedom (Strike is impossible to find save for Ebay), Ex-S, and the full armor ZZ Gundam.

The FIX Figuration series is also notable for their level of detail. They're taller and cost considerably more than the HCM-Pro series.

Its my neat little figurine on my desk.
