yes however people must have a sense of indipendence. i agree that he's the boss and others must obey all his rules...however the problem is him! he must be able to think beyond the rules! rules consider general situations not specific ones... isnt a leader's job solve major problems for its ppl and to lead his people to a better situation? all he does is make their lives worse and harder....throughout all the series. all his decisions go to the rubbish after the whole problem is over...(they are never followed to the end!) however they caused a gr8 deal of pain and damage and that does not go to the rubbish bin for instance.

You DO realise that it's Central 46 that orders and moves the executions. Not Yama. That's why Aizen killed C46 and sent the orders out concerning the executions himself under the guise if C46. Yama has nothing to do with it.

I'm not going to tryu and dissuade you from your yama hate, but that was a pretty poor starting point.

Baring in mind when he went up against Shunsui and Ukitake, as far as he was concerned they were traitors, whether they were being compassionate or not. On top of that, in his eyes, a Senior member of the Gotei13 had been killed (Aizen) and now here were two traitors popping up, from his standpoint it is quite concievable that they were the killers. C46 hadn't been revealed to be murdered and that it was all Aizen. So it's not like he fought Shunsui and Ukitake knowing that it was all Aizen and that they were breaking the rules. It was actually the announcement from Unohana's VC that went out across Sereitei about Aizen being the mastermind that interupted the fight. As soon as he heard it he let it go and let them off.

As for your first point about recognising a horrible death, that's how its been for ages, if he rebelled against C46 and tried to overturn the order he'd be just as bad as Aizen, a traitor and a rebel. We've also seen how harsh C46 have been in the past, with Urahara and Tessai and the injured captains, in TBTP, so there's no reason to believe that this harsh acting is anything new from C46.

And someone's got to uphold the law. If no one does the place will be in chaos, even worse than during Aizen's plot.

He knew, tought and kinda raised ukitake and kyouraku. They were like his sons.
He could do 1+1 : a young girl was going to be executed for a minor crime and two of his dearest subordinates (one happened to be the captain of the girl and the other one his best friend) tried to stop the execution . It's pretty logical the reason of their act.
U said it is "conceivable" that they were the killers of Aizen because of that act...hmm... if he would have done the above reasoning and stopped to think about the emotional nature they both have he would never cross to his mind that they were the killers. Saving Rukia, an innocent , a person close to at least one of them both is enough of a reason for such brave and good hearted men to stand up to the laws.
About the TBTP...the C46 decision was extremely harsh, however (thinking carefully now) it is kinda right. They knew nothing of the new power of the transformed captains and vice-captains, nor about how would that affect their character . It was unfair...hell yes it was! since their (hirako & co.) purpose was always to serve SS but...what other could C46 have decided else? Hollow and shinigami mix of power, although unknown result at that time...it's clear it would be an immense power. And there were a couple of captain lvl ppl affected by that so that was a huge risk. Yama couldn't have said anything against it. It would have been too much of a risk. (on the other hand...what risk could rukia provide SS???)
Upholding the law...YES! But as i said in another post of mine here...laws are made for general situations. Specific ones should be carefully looked through and especially when it is clear as water that something is wrong ( sorry for repetition:killing a person for a minor crime) then ppl can have the decency to speak up at the very least.

Saving Rukia, an innocent ,

As far as Yama's concerned, she isn't innocent though. She went against the laws of Soul Society willingly. Those laws are in place and apply to everone. If one person is spared then morally all must be, then the laws will break down as will society.

And again, it doesn't matter what Shunsui or Ukitake do or think, because they have no say or impact on the decisions that C46 makes. I already said that him appealing against it would really have little effect whatsoever.

And anyway, C46 probably wouldn't have made that decision anyway, they would likel have sent her to the Maggot's Nest, it was Aizen that needed her dead (well not really, but it got her out of the way) so he could obtain the Hougoujyu from inside her. So it's Aizen we should whinge about really.
