The Convent
The movie was "meh" i praise it for it's "HOLY CRAP"-moments and swimwear :jk:
It was kinda easily predicted and just got boring until the end...
It's not unwatchable but it isn't good either so put it on your "See when bored" movies list...

Happy Feet
i say it wasnt all that great...i took my niece to see it, shes five and she really didnt pay attention...sure its cute to see penguins but maybe the story could have been better..i dont know...it just wasnt as good as "Cars" or "Finding Nemo"
but its just my opinion..

More recently, I re-re-re-rewatched Tom Hanks, Jean Reno and Sir Ian McKellan in THE DA VINCI CODE, also starring Paul Bettany and Alfred Molina.

Saw Night at the Museum a couple nights ago. It was funny. Caught Eargon before that and was greatly disappointed...Went in expecting something along the lines of LOTR or Narnia:LWW but they did a horrible job bringing the book to the big screen in the case. Too much of needed story line left out of the movie.

Jet Li's Fearless.
Yes, it was kind of cheesy but I actually quite liked it. The story wasn't as deep as Crouching Tiger but it was still a lot better than most as far as martial arts movies go. And the locations they shot in were incredible.
Lastly, the fight scenes were sweet, so all in all I though it was a good movie.

Saw Pan's Labyrenth. Spanish movie, subbed english, about a fairy tale underworld princess that leaves for the surface and dies but has her soul reborn into the body of an unknowing girl. The story is of the girl who is the reborn princess making it back to her home land. It was rated R...very graphic and violent. Good movie overall. Probably the best I have seen so far this year.

last movie i saw in theaters was Children of Men, it was very good. great cinematography. it made the action feel very real and visceral because things would just happen and there would be no real build up to them. first 3 minutes captured me and left me spellbound throughout the entire film. i'd recommend it, but not really if you're looking for a hardcore action flick where the main character shoots everyone. it added a real tone to the movie because the main character was portrayed as a normal human thrown into the thick of things - he's just trying to survive really.

very glad i could help (if that was directed towards Children of Men). but there is a big variation between people. i went and saw it with 4 friends and 2 of them ,including myself, loved it. the other 2 HATED it and thought it was the worst movie ever. which is why i warned not to go expecting a big huge kill everyone blow up everything action movie. because it isn't. it's a well thought out story that is just.. great all around. =) hope you enjoy it! you'll have to tell me what you think about the very first scene before the "Children of Men" flashes on screen!

I just recently saw "Kingdom Of Heaven". It is a movie about the crusades in Jerusalem. Good movie, plenty of action and violence. The moral of the story/movie is that faith cannot be won by the sword. Well shot (from a directors point of view) and nice landscapes. I would personally recommend it.

Casshern. Crazy little movie based on some really old japanese anime, except now it's completely different. The movie is hard to describe-there were some amazing scenes and effects and some breathtaking atmospheric settings and...yeah...but then there's the part that makes no sense. I understood about half of the three hour movie and the parts I didn't understand were boring and/or wierd. But the half I understood was pretty cool...there are some pretty nice fight scenes in there as well, but it's not all action, action.

The music was great. Actually, BLEACH music composer Shiro Sagisu was working on this movie while he was doing bleach, so they used two bleach soundtrack pieces in the movie which was pretty cool.
I was mixed, but the good half of the movie was worth it, so I'm glad I saw it. Now that I've written so much, I bet no one is even reading this but here, If anyone cares: http://www.casshern.com/

Curse of the golden flower is okay.. I have already watched it becuase I live in China, and I have already watched it here, in the chinese original version. It defiantly has some good and bads.. However, I won't spoil anything for you by saying anymore, but the last fight scene was quite similar to LOTR helms deep kinda thing. The story is also quite sad.. The Assassination of Richard Nixon
Watched it on television. Has a pretty good plot, but the ending was a failure. Well, that leaves me no choice since it's inspired by a true story.

Anzu, have you seen Rear Window? It's an old Alfred Hitchcock film from mid-1950's. Anyway, from what I see from Disturbia it's pretty much just a contemporary remake of Rear Window. I'll see it because Rear Window was so good.

Watched "The Messengers" yesterday ...My opinion? Well ... its about The guy from TV's The Practice moves out to some deadbeat village after a family trauma to become a farmer and a bunch of scary things happen, most of which resolve around his young daughter. While it succeeds in being atmo-spheric, The Messengers is just too dumb to actually be scary, and the genuine lack of any semblance of a story makes it more boring than one could possibly believe. Run away to the country to become a sunflower farmer because some-thing bad happened? A sunflower? How could you possibly support a family on sunflowers? Derivative, tedious, mundane and scarily stupid.

Spiderman 3. 10/10 I loved it, didn't really mind the venom not a big fan of the character, still I had to cope with the whinner's who weren't happy enough with having a him IN the movie, with raimi directing. Don't think they would have been too happy with venom as the lead villain in a crappy film.

Spider-Man 3- 7.5/10. It was really good but there were little things that bugged me especially with Venom. There were a lot of scenes that I laughed at that weren't neccessarily funny and it almost felt like they were stalling to show Venom at the end.
It was a good movie though and if you haven't seen it, stay away from big spoilers and watching it through your computer, its not the same as the movies. I'll probably post more about it in the SM3 thread later..

Spiderman 3 , 9/10 . the movie is awesome but I dislike some parts . the typical parts like when people and kids say OWW LOOK ITS THE SPIDERMAN , I don't like this type .Also the news and the reporter is lame VERY TYPICAL . other than that the movie is cool . Eddie as Venom was awesome so that Harry was too awesome BUt sadly they both are dead
MY favorite parts of the movie when the sandman turned into sand , and when venom eddie shows his face and talk to petter , and my most favorite part is when Harry looked at petter with EVIL BIG SMILE AND WINCKED at him , when petter walked out the cafe in the street then looked back at Harry , before that they were in cafe and harry told him that merry J. is back with him .

A whole lot better than x-men 3 though that's for sure!
I laughed at the part when peter was being taken over

Spiderman 3 - 5/10
It was strictly Ok. Just a victim of bad casting. I still regret having to watch Toby McGwire as spiderman =/. Also, Topher Grace is nowhere near the Eddie Brock of the comics. Even with the symbiote, Topher Grace wasn't as "hulked out" as Eddie Brock was in the comics, w/o the symbiote. And don't get me started about Peter "I'm an emo" Parker when he gets the symbiote..... Meh.....yeah that describes it.....meh.
On the other hand
300 - 10/10
Gory action sequences, badass landscapes, and an all around well shot movie makes this one a must-watch.

Had its moments. When it didnt have its moments i wanted to punch parker in the face during his Emo John Travolta phase. The only time the symbiote was cool was how it moved as the splurge. It came into the story really cheaply too.
