no idea if BE will carry these or not but heres a list of series coming out, most in october. as usual its 95% crap only middle school girls would watch...but there are some i really wanna check out. including two BIG ones for me...a gundam, and anything shinichiro wantanbe worked on. dude made the best and 2nd best animes ever...he touches it...i'll watch it lol.

Michiko to Hatchin

summary: Michiko is a free-willed “sexy diva” who destroys a supposedly inescapable fortress, while Hatchin is a girl fleeing her strict foster parents. The two join forces on an improbable escape to freedom.

reason i want to see it: if for no other reason than shinichiro wantanbe worked on it (he's the director of cowboy bebop and samurai champloo). sadly wantanbe is not the director tho. trailer looks...um...interesting? i have no fucking clue what this show is about lol.

Casshern Sins

summary: Cassern is about a cyborg who rises against the robotic armies that have subjugated all of humanity.

reason i want to see it: cuz the trailer looked semi cool. given that its a remake, it has an old school feel.

Yozakura Quartet

summary: The story revolves around a quartet of teenaged heroes: A super-strong girl named Hime, a mind reader named Ao, a conjurer named Kotoha and an ordinary, powerless boy named Akina. The three girls and Akina protect the city of Sakurashin from supernatural threats.

reason i want to see it: it could be really cool or really gay. it will either be DTB in nature which is cool, or a Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou (which was: bordom, the anime).

Not saying that this statement is enterly false. In fact most anime are shojo so it's normal that there is also a higher number of panties and co on those. Tough don't think shonnen don't have any, else you are only a dumb who haven't saw anything.

Well at first I watched only shonnen because I tough exactly as you say then with the recommendation of friend I started to watch some shojo. Not all shojo are good like not all shonnen are tough you can enjoy both of them. Except if you are a cold hearted asshole who hate using his brain to understand a story and only want to see people punching everyone, something simple.

So fucking stop judging anime from their type. You won't hate every shojo as you won't like every shonnen.

As much as I appreciate your holier than thou I'm gonna be a dick to everybody for no particular reason attitude(and trust me, I do), it doesn't seem right to pass judgment on an entire genre simply because you are not a fan of it. I watch a lot of shojo myself as well as seinen and shounen. The truth is that these days it's all unoriginal cliche garbage no matter where you look.

The key is to pick out the exceptionally good ones from each genre and enjoy those rather than shunning an entire group simply because it is not of your taste. You are missing out on some incredible material because of your attitude. True anime fandom comes from being able to traverse all genres equally rather than group all of it together as garbage.

Anyway, sorry to get off topic since this is a thread about what YOU like not what I like. I just thought I should defend shojo a little bit.

ur apparently looking in the wrong places. i disagree...

there is originality even in a show such as gundam 00...a franchise thats been used and reused for coming up on 3 decades. yet they still managed to make an entire first season that was bad fucking ass. they didn't steal a single mech design, they used old concepts but modified them to really make it their own. my god there wasn't even a char clone in the first season...and theres a char clone in EVERY gundam series.

i don't think the anime world has burnt itself out just yet. its definately a handful of great shows buried among a shit pot load of trash no doubt. but as a grown ass man, i am not going to be appealed to by the same shit 10-18 yr old japanese girls like. its not going to happen...just like i don't like chick flicks, i'm never going to like shojo. the closest ur going to get to a shojo i'd like is a cross over like escaflowne...but a straight shojo just ain't gonna cut it for me. i have zero interest in middle school girls, lolis, their lives and love stories.

It's too bad you feel this way though. I mean Ef was truly a show that turned me onto the genre. Well no that's not true. Sailor Moon did but Ef is what brought me back. Its mind blowing stuff like that shouldn't be missed.

Hey now watch where you step. Sailor Moon is beloved by millions of people worldwide and in many cases the first interaction many of us 20 somethings had with anime. For me it was bootleg Dragonball vhs tapes with awful subs and terrible picture and sound quality that I bought for a local fleamarket 20 dollars for 3 tapes but SM still holds a special place in my heart =D

I still have all of those illegal bootleg vhs tapes. I should probably burn them.

Yeah, check out the first season of Gundam 00. Truly epic in the second half of the season and very originally despite being a part of a 50 year old franchise(probably off, but it is very old).

gundam 00 is cuz anything gundam is mainstream in japan...the rest are debatable.

theres a fist of the northstar sequel, the original is pretty well known (mainly cuz it was unintentionally hilarious).

casshern sins is a remake...fairly well known in japan, even has a live action movie adaptation

seen a lot of hype for kurogane no line barrel

jigoku shojo is on its 3rd season

the shojo fanboys crying like a little bitch with a skinned knee in this thread are all over ef a tale of memories.

rosario and vampire is on a 2nd season i think (i don't follow it at all)

thats all i would say are "mainstream"...but like i said its debateable
