Can someone please Tell me

Why can Shinigami and Hollows/Arrancars/Vaizards Fly (Step mid-air like it was a floor) ? I mean, during the first Arc, only winged or ghostlike hollows could fly, and ichigo had to jump around and stuff, and during the SS arc, there was no aerial battle or the like, nobody could fly at all, only jump really high as usual, and then, suddenly, after that episode when Shinji was shown running mid-air, everybody started doing it, everywhere, be it SS, HM or Real World, now most of the fights, people keep flying around, was it even explained how do they do that? and why didn't they do it before in the series? Because i Smell a Huge Plot Hole here...Please no theories, I need facts , along with hard evidence.

suposedly once you reach a certain reiatsu level/strength its an added ability... or at least thats what i speculate.

Remember when Rukia complained about her gigai constricting her Shinigami abilities, being stiff, slow, and out of breath, after being in the real world for too long very early on in the story? One of the abilities she states her gigai cancelled was flight.

It's because shinigami can form spirit particles under their feet. I forgot where it's at in the manga I'll have to find it. Might have been said during Ichigo's training with Yoru when he was trying to achieve bankai. I don't really remember bro. I know that's what was said though.

Also when Ichigo, Ishida and Chad first entered HM Via The garganta that's how they had to make a path was by forming spirit particles "or spiritrons" under their feet.

I believe this forming of spiritrons under their feet is also the reason they are able to use Shunpo.
