shadowing help

I like digital art a lot ; especially line art and such with anime and manga characters, i'm okay with coloring, and i'm getting used to it; but one thing i've never been good at is shadowing; it doesn't matter what; i just can't get shadows right. On the skin, on clothes, even a shadow the character is casting - it never looks right....T-T

any tips or suggestions?

pick one area where you want the light 2 come from, then go to the opposite side and shade it in dark. keep on making it lighter and then you'll have a shadowing image on your picture. i take art lessons

^Basically that's how shading is done.

I suggest that you search "anime shading" or "manga shading" in Google, or something. There are a lot of sites that are helpful. I can't find the one that I liked, so I think you can search. Good luck. ;)
