Welcome to the remade fan club for one of the greatest anime and manga series out there at the moment, Claymore.

The Claymore anime has been widely acclaimed and garnered a large following for it's quality, amazing soundtrack and of course the storyline itself.

The Claymore manga on the other hand is relatively less known, though most fans would agree that it completely trumps the anime. The manga is an ongoing series released once a month and serialized in Shounen Jump magazine. Claymore is the brainchild of Yagi Norihiro the man also responsible for the Angel Densetsu series.

Now as most of us know, the Claymore anime deviated from the original manga storyline in the last few episodes. Thus a continuation doesn't look very probable, at least not for a while. Anyone asking about the second season of the Claymore anime... just don't.

If you're not familiar with Claymore here is a summarized version of the story taken from the original FC.
The setting of Claymore's story is a fictional world with medieval technology. Politically, it appears to consist of a large number of scattered, apparently independent, towns. In this world, humans coexist with creatures called Yoma (妖魔, Yoma?) sentient monsters that feed on human innards. The Yoma, being shape-changers, can take on human form and live in disguise amongst humans. By consuming the humans' brains, Yoma can also absorb their memories, allowing them to disguise themselves as specific people without alerting any of their close friends or family.

A nameless and highly secretive organization has created an order of superhuman warriors to protect humans from the Yoma. These warriors have come to be popularly known as Claymores, after the immense claymores they wield. Villages being attacked by Yoma hire Claymores to kill the Yoma for a large fee.

This organization creates the Claymores by implanting Yoma flesh and blood into humans, creating hybrids that are more powerful than the original Yoma, in addition to their weapons training and possibly greater intelligence. A Claymore's standard abilities include overall enhanced physical prowess (most noticeably, strength), faster healing, limited shape modification and the ability to detect other demons and hybrids. They all wear the same armor and use large claymore swords that normal humans lack the strength to wield, and are characterized by their silver eyes and hair. However, the Yoma powers of each Claymore will increase over time until the Claymore loses all humanity and becomes a powerful, highly intelligent, and incredibly bloodthirsty Yoma called an Awakened. They also constantly run the risk of speeding up their transformations into Yomas if they overuse their powers. A good Claymore will ask a friend (usually a fellow Claymore) to kill them if they sense they are "Awakening" so they would not become a Yoma.

The secret organization is contacted by the town council about Yoma killings and will then send a Claymore to kill the demons, although not every hybrid does so willingly. Upon a successful kill, it then sends an agent to charge a large fee for its services. A town that fails to pay will never receive further assistance and will be left at the mercy of the Yoma. It has been insinuated that the organization themselves send Yoma to the towns that could not pay. The organization is often strict and harsh; hybrids who break the rules (for example, by killing a human, even accidentally or to protect others) will be hunted down by their fellow hybrids. Claymores who cause trouble or Claymores suspected to be on the verge of Awakening will be sent on suicide missions without their knowledge. Various characters throughout the series suspect the organization of being much more sinister than it appears.

Despite saving humans on a regular basis, Claymores are often alienated from and feared by humans due to their incredible powers, their relation to Yomas, and generally aloof attitudes. Humans will often call them "silver-eyed witches" or "monsters". Surviving family members of a Yoma's masquerade are often banished from villages for fear that they might be Yoma too. Females who suffer this fate are often forced to become Claymores to survive. Claymores often live unhappy, lonely lives due to their solitary lifestyle and the knowledge that they will eventually die or become monsters. Presumably from one or more of their Yoma blood, their training, and their harsh lives, many Claymores are generally serious and at least outwardly cold. Others become hot-tempered and easily angered, while some other Claymores develop an incredible thirst for blood and become bloodthirsty killers who enjoy taking life, more savage than the Yoma they hunt. Almost all of them avoid any sort of companionship with humans.

The story of Claymore follows the adventures of the Claymore warrior Clare. The plot follows her as she fights Yoma and struggles to hold on to her humanity. Starting in the 3rd volume, there is a flashback to her childhood on how she was 'adopted' by the Claymore Teresa. After Teresa rebels against the organization and is subsequently killed, Clare volunteers to become a Claymore using Teresa's flesh in order to take revenge on the Awakened who killed her. With determination and her human friend Raki by her side, Clare overcomes her low demonic power by honing the skills she inherited from Teresa. As the series progresses, she becomes a stronger and stronger fighter, gradually earning the respect of strong allies and coming in conflict with the shadowy organization, the top Claymores who support them, and many powerful Awakened.

To join the FC for this amazing series simply post in the thread and either me or one of the two co-owners will welcome you.

Upon joining you may also claim a character for yourself, so if you have a favourite and she/he isn't taken yet feel free to claim the character. Only one character per person and first come, first serve.

There will also be an informal ranking system, this will initially be based on joining order but as the FC ages the more active members will get the higher ranked seats.

Both these systems are merely for some added entertainment, you can join without claiming a character if you so wish.

Yeah. Well Raki, when he was a kid, was totally different. That is who we mainly see interpretated in the anime. He was a lil bit of a bitch. However, he did have his family killed right in front of him. He needed that time away from Claire to become his own man, and become the badass he is today.

Haha yeah well Isley has to die sometime to progress Raki and Priscilla's charaters. Who better to eat him than his pupil. I think Raki would do it too so that he can protect Claire and Priscilla. He might be the first man able to control it as well. I guess we will have to wait and see the limits of Raki's badassness haha.

I don't believe that Raki will become a male claymore or anything like that. He knows full well that it will result in him becoming an AB, and not even his desire to become more powerful will make him do that. It would feel abit out of character for him I guess.
Besides, it's his role in the story to be the only human maincharacter and that's exactly that what makes him stand out as a character.

See, I always figured if he can stop her from doing it than he could do it. He always seemed to have that Iron will. Either way, I will be happy. Raki is has always been my fav character even when he was a little kid.

@Topic: The moment when Clare and Raki reunites is going to be amazing yeah, I just can't wait for it. Encountering her worst enemy and dearest friend at the same time... Clare's going to snap. Unless of course she doesn't recognize Priscila until she turns into her AB form...

And I don't think Raki will become a Claymore or AB either, like Charlie said, the series needs that one human character to bring everything into perspective.

The absence of Raki hate in this FC so far is kind of surprising actually....^^

Raki being with Priscilla makes me wonder if Clare really will continue pursuing that revenge of hers. Although it's been mentioned that Priscilla won't be able to hold back her hunger indefinately so it looks like we'll see a confrontation anyway. Anyhow, with the recent developments it's become pretty clear that the final enemy will be the Organization, and not Priscilla. Although who knows what Riful will be up to....

What about...What do you guys think is going to happen in next week's chapter? Do you think Isley and the other Abyssal Ones can defeat these eaters?

I really do not know what to think of those eaters, Isley did not stand a chance against them, and he is the strongest abyssal one, Priscilla should be stronger, but she is no AO. Those things just do not die, no matter how you tear them apart, hitting and destroying their head in one strike might become troublesome if they are in such huge numbers.

The demons are fascinating. Personally I'm wondering whether this will lead to a situation where Priscilla goes into her awakened form to avenge or defeat Isley. Then things will really come to a point. That would be a logical climax for the story, but having just introduced the concept of the mainland makes it a bit harder... I think it was kind of a mistake... in order for a twist like that to work this has to be relatively not too far into the manga, which would mean the whole thing will have to be long as hell and I don't know if the artist/writer can keep it up. It will be epic if they can, though.

@Savage: After Clare leaves she is tracked down by Rafaela, it then seems that Rafaela executes her, but they don't actually show her being killed. So yeah...

I assumed she was killed; I mean, she has no arms, so protecting herself against a top 5 Claymore is a bit far-fetched, especially without us hearing about it through Rafaela/the organization. But I don't think it's completely out of the question that she survived as a twist...

Anything can happen in the next chapter. I don't think Isley is done yet. He will probably manage to escape somehow. It could also easily go to another group of Claymores before we get back to Isley and/or Deneve and Helen.

Only because Isley is messing about too much. He had several of them completely vulnerable with no effort and failed to destroy their heads. He should know to destroy the heads considering he can regrow body parts easily. One volley from his bow would headshot all of them and he wins.

Okay so Isley died. Even though it looked like he was in a tight spot I really didn't expect him to die. And he died in such a nasty way aswell, getting eaten alive by the abyssal feeders. Anyway, we got alot of info about the feeders and it seems like Raki, Piscilla and Isley split up because he went to fight against the Abyssal Feeders. That explains also his tattered appearance, since he must have been fighting them for a long time now. Also it was nice to learn more about Isley and his intentions.

And fuck yeah! Alicia and Beth are back! We now have them, Deneve, Helen, Dietrich, Clare, Cynthia and possibly abyssal feeders converging in the territory of Riful and her Raciella. Raki and Priscilla will probably also end up there somehow. That's going to be so epic.

Like bonte said, If Riful has managed to awaken Raciella, then the attack on her by the org will probably run into a lot of trouble.
The organization seems to be pretty much blinded by their recent succes, and think that Riful's going to be easy prey....which I really doubt.

I very much doubt that Raciella has been awakened, though I seriously doubt that the Beth Alicia combo will work against Riful.

Easly is a total powerhouse, but he was little defenses. Riful is the opposite and is immensly hard to actually wound. Not only that, but I would put money that Riful can at least figure out (if she doesn't already know) about Beth and Alicia, and could easily obliterate Beth while she is doing the soul carry or whatever she pulls

Duff is actually one of the weakest (if not the weakest) "named" Awakened being. Riful is far far far far more powerful than him, they're not even comparable.

Anyway, I believe that Riful is a far more dangerous enemy than Isley. They both have comparable fighting capabilities,but Riful is a real schemer and she's sure to have some nasty surprises in store for the organization. Also, I could see the ghosts forming an alliance out of necessity against the organization.

Oh, and while the Abyssal Feeders are powerful, they wouldn't have defeated Isley in that town, if Helen and Deneve didn't interrupt his healing and force him to use his Yoki, which in turn attracted the AF way earlier than aticipated.

I don't think that Alicia alone will be enough to defeat Riful though. It's a bit hard to say though since we have no idea how strong Alicia actually is (except that she is able to oppose Abyssal Ones) - all we have seen her do is killilling some no name awakened beings.


And as Xelphus said, Beth is an easy target while they're linked...especially for Riful with all her spikes, tentacles and whatnot.
Also, there might be a time limit as to how long Beth is able to uphold the soul link, in which case it would be a real problem for Alicia considering that Riful's resiliance is amazing. That's pure speculation though XD

Yeah i was thinking about Clare just a few moments ago, haven't seen her in awhile. Miria as well although i guess its a good that the attention gets shifted about so i can't complain really. We seriously need to see more Raki and Priscilla though, since Raki has grown up we've only really seen him on about two occasions, if that.

I doubt she'd attack Raki, he seems to have kept her under lock and key, but if she does he'd most definitely be the last react i feel, although Claymore can be unpredictable at times which is one of the many good qualities it has as a manga :D It'd be interesting to see how she actually fairs against those Abyssal Feeders with her being supposedly weaker due to her not eating an all...

It also sounds like that Clare and her group are heading in that general direction (toward Riful). It shouldn't be long before Clare and Riku are reunited, but I wonder what Prisilla's reaction will be since Clare is a Claymore from Teressa's flesh. That will be an interesting confrontation and is hopefully only a few chapters away from the present one.
