I was unsure whether to put this in the battle pits or gaming haven, please move it if you feel it should be in the pits more than here.

Kk, so I recently bought Soul Calibur 3 and Tekken 5 the other day, and then seeing the news regardingf the upcoming release of Street Fighter V I got thinking...

So, first of all, Jin Kazama vs. Ryu, who would win? Jin has devil abilities if he needs them, to make up for Ryu having Hadouken.

Secondly, SC series vs. Tekken series, both in terms of fighting/ability matchups and in terms of your personal preference and gameplay.

Thirdly, Street Fighter series vs. Mortal Kombat series, again same as above, ability/fight match ups and general personal preferences and gameplay.

Personally i'm digging Soul Calibur atm, it seems to have way more in terms of unlockables, and the character creation is awesome and full of potential variation.

Street Fighter V? Isn't it Street Fighter IV?

I would pick Jin for the first fight. He has the demon beam, he can fly, and he retains the moves he has in regular form.

I only played SC II and IV. I prefer Soul Calibur. I like the characters and fighting style from that series as opposed to Tekken.

Street Fighter over Mortal Kombat. I like the fatalities from MK, but Street Fighter has the super combos, guard cancels, and all that special technical fighting stuff.

Ryu would beat the hell out of Jin.

The Tekken series is better than the Soul Calibur series.

Street Fighter is the greatest fighting game series of all time and is better than all of them.


A little known fighting game that is one of my favorites is Rival Schools.

Rival Schools is a great game. I remember playing it in the arcades.

I didn't really play that many fighting games. The last one I played thoroughly was SCII.

Ryu annihilates Jin.

I find Tekken a bit more balanced, probably because I played it more competitively.

Mortal Kombat was quite entertaining up to Ultimate actually. The 3D versions have felt too stiff. But Street Fighter has always been superior. Hell, Capcom fighting games in general are superior.
