Has anyone played it?

yea it was pretty good especially for a GBA RPG, tho the beginning is pretty long and tedious but once you get out of the first village it really picks up

Have you played the second part - The Lost Age?
I have completed both games 3 times and now aiming for 4th one.
I consider it as one of the best RPG games of all times ;)

I finished the first one, and about a quarter of the way through The Lost Age (stopped playing it for a long while). I think it's probably the best RPG on the GBA.
Ragnarok FTW
I got all the djinn, have yet to beat the last boss but I had some crazy fun with that game. The only thing that bugged me was the dialogue and the annoying sounds/smilies etc during the lengthy cutscenes (especially in the beginning). It's not too terrible but it's not quality storytelling. The gameplay is amazing though, they did it right with the djinn system.
I was probably 12 or so when I played the Lost Age for the first time. Some of those puzzles were pretty time consuming from what I recall.

I had the worst time on this game.(but it was one of my favorite ones to this day)
I was new to the series and did not know gaming in general back then It was one of the 1st RPG games I played.
I conquered it all the way to the end. I played the final dungeon and the level had that sand cascade or sand fall that dropped you a level. I was stuck on trying to get past that for weeks.
I looked for levers or something that I missed like a block to throw in it. nothing but me walking across and getting sent down a level instead of crossing it. :(
I use to be able to just cross by going from the top corner of one side to the bottom of the other in the desert area.
I gave up and handed it to a friend to my amazement he handed it back like 30 seconds later...HE HAD ME ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!!
I was like WTF?!?!
I said how?
he said "I ran...."
Last time I played a game without reading the controls 1st lol.
The series was meant to be a trilogy what happened to the 3rd I played the 2nd a bit but sold all my dinjin from the last game so I lost interest and never completed it. I would replay them all if the 3rd would come out. lol at the releases I loved how they got better over time

great games both of them 1st one slightly better but nonetheless a great game there are still rumors about a third game and that the creators want to make this one the best so that's the reason why it's taking so long
personally i'd like to believe it but i think it's all bullshit to bad though

If they did make a third it couldnt be on the GBA since that generation is pretty much finished, they may have originally planned a GBA trilogy but now that the GBAs done decided not to make the third one

There have been lots of fakes after the 2 one, but this game is sure popular just look at its fanbase at fanfiction.net!!

actually they could look at the transfer system for pokemon on GBA -DS
The dinjin could be done the same way.
^but that was solely for those games and since then Ninentdo has more or less officially "disowned" the gameboy. If we see a third- and I've also heard rumors of one on the DS- I doubt it will have too much connection to the first two in terms of transferring over data.
Of course I can't back any of that up without digging around the intarwebz. Also take into account the time gap between Lost Age and whenever the third would supposedly be released. Lost Age was made so it COULD be compatible with Golden Sun, whereas the pokemon games were sort of tweaked, unless I'm wrong. Anyway my point is, the third game would have to come up with a different way of continuing the story, if they even choose to.
..which brings up a question: how did the second one end? It's been years and I forget :P

I don't know how it had ended.
Both the 1st-2nd games may be able to give the dinjin caught which are transferable as you said. The DS may just be able to read it from the other slot.
It's possible, but I doubt it, is what I'm trying to say.

It's a great game, one of the best RPGs. the start was too much reading but as you leave the village it got very interestinf. I have beaten the first one with no problems but the second one I got stuck at a point with the ship and couldn't fifure out what to do so I lost intrest.

The tower where you saved the two kids at the beginning has a trident piece

Golden Sun has been announced for the DS.
After going dark six years ago, 2010 will see a new dawn. Golden Sun DS updates the popular portable Golden Sun role-playing series with an impressive graphical style. This installment follows the story of the previous heroes' descendants and immerses players into the magic of its adventure by pushing the boundaries of intuitive touch-screen controls.
Coming in 2010.

Well men, now that I know the third is coming out I made a new Golden Sun 1 file to transfer over to the second one. Just finished it tonight with all the best items and all djinni, now to transfer it to the second one and beat the second one with all good items and levels.
Figured I'd get my guys set up for the third one, even though I know the new character's list is their descendants. Though, just incase we can transfer things over, I'll have bad ass equipment and characters.
On another note, incase any of you haven't seen the new picture for Golden Sun DS, here it is.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r116/BKEowns/GoldenSunDS.jpg
In my own honest opinion I think its my favorite Golden Sun picture so far. The expressions on each of them is by far awesome, and it looks like there are different powers than just earth, fire, water, and wind this time around. (Note the red haired man's axe power.)
I'm still glad to see that the main character (presuming the middle one is) still uses Venus' powers. (Move powers and anything to do with earth.)

Yeah Ragnarok is earth based, it was a sword that he threw into the enemy not a red dragon. When it hit the enemy gold powder or something came out, or dirt who knows.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r116/BKEowns/GoldenSunDS.jpg
At first I was thinking that the middle character was the son of Isaac and Jenna, but then I remembered that Jenna's hair was red. Luckily since I started a new file bringing over my items from the first one, I noticed something. Felix's hair was dark brown and Sheba's was like a blonde(ish) color. Those hair colors would make the middle character's hair color so maybe.
I mean, what girl wouldn't fall for a guy that jumped off a lighthouse for her, right? This is probably the best way to "reel one in" guys out there, lol.
The guy with the red hair and axe I think will be Garet's son, but who knows. He might also be Isaac's son if he gets together with Jenna, since her hair would take over the gene. Also if he was Jenna's son, he gets his mothers genes more than his father, so it'd make him red haired probably.
The girl on the right with the staff to me looks a lot like Mia, I don't know who she would get together with though. So I guess we'll just have to find out when it comes out.

The red haired guy looks a lot older than 2 other "kids".
He's like 25 and for me he sure lacks a goatee while "Isaac" and "Mia" look 12 or 15 considering that anime makes people look younger esp the teenagers.

Well if everyone on here has played both Golden Sun games I'm sure you will shiver with fear when I mention this name. Dullahan. Indeed, last night on my new file I made for level 99 characters and best gear to transfer to Golden Sun DS I finally beat him with a level mid 40 crew lol.
After beating him yesterday, today I just found a video where a guy used cheats so that he'd never get experience in any fights. I've been watching a lot of his vids and he beat the first Golden Sun while using it, and now he's beaten Dullahan with it.

It could become quite a bomb if the game was maybe 10x popular.

Suikoden II is the best RPG of all time.

It's one of my favorite games of all time. In both I have all Djinn, Summon's, and the pwnage armor and sword's [like the dark sword in #2, cursed but that's ok].

It's not hard to get, I can help you if you still have your game around or something.
Basically you need Orichalcum or whatever its called in one or your character's inventories. It looks like a gold bar of some sort. Anyways, walk to the smithing guy and save the game. Talk to him then run out of his house and into the big two doors into the "church" where you can revive your characters. Then run out back to the house and talk to the wife for your item. If it's Excalibur then you can save it and run off, but if it's something you don't want just reset the game and load and do the same thing again.
I did that maybe 10 times and I got it. It wasn't really hard, just need a lot of patience.
Sorry, could only find a video with German language in it, but basically everyone's defending then for Piers it says "Piers' Excalibur sends out a howl..Legend!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2chLXAIdCa4&feature=PlayList&p=E8508B8766B7F8E6&index=12
The video is sort of blurry, but basically a circle with strange symbols appears and either shoots out one purple sword or three purple swords. One purple sword does less damage than the three swords that come out.

I don't know how it had ended.
Both the 1st-2nd games may be able to give the dinjin caught which are transferable as you said. The DS may just be able to read it from the other slot.
It is definitely possible for you to transfer things from GBA to DS. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA) and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimores Rift (DS) basically have a system like that.
Oh, and the ending was the main characters all go back and find Vale ruined, Garet crying out for his family and Isaac looking for his mother with his father. Then Garet's family walk out and soon after, Isaac's mother. They all embrace eachother then it shows a picture of all of them, and Jenna riding on Felix's back and all of them smiling. Then the credits start rolling and it shows each Lighthouse being lit (in the past before this happened.)
Then it shows Alex climbing up Mt. Aleph and the 4 "Elemental Lighthouses Power" combine and the Golden Sun flows down Mt. Aleph. Then he tries to conjure up a storm and the wise one appears then basically bitch-slaps Alex and tells him he'll never be "All Powerful" and then Alex starts complaining. After this, Mt. Aleph starts to crumble into the ground and Alex can't move, and the wise one says "If you truly are powerful, then I guess we'll be seeing eachother in the near future. Farewell." Then it's the end basically.
