fuck yeah!
I just watched it like last week but I loved it. I was so sad for Wolfwood :(
Ya, it sucked when Wolfwood died... anyone know anything about the Trigun movie that's supposed to be coming out sometime this year? At least that's what it said when I last read the Wikipedia entry.
Also, don't forget to grab banners!

Really? as in live-action? I think that could actually work fairly well, compared to Cowboy Bebop or DBZ.

Joinage?
Welcome!
Really? as in live-action? I think that could actually work fairly well, compared to Cowboy Bebop or DBZ.
I recall it being animated. Let me quickly get the part of the entry...
The October 2005 issue of NEO includes an interview with Masao Maruyama, Madhouse's founder and series planner. In the article he reveals the studio is working on a Trigun Movie that will be released in "a couple of years". The November issue of Anime Insider also confirms this news.
In May 2007, Nightow confirmed at the Anime Central Convention that the Trigun movie was in the early stages of pre-production with a near-final script, although he did not divulge any plot information.
In February 2008, more details about the Trigun movie emerged on the cover of volume 14 of the Trigun Maximum manga, announcing that the movie was scheduled for 2009.
According to the Wikipedia entry there was a video game also that was supposed to be coming out. But Sega has it as "no comment" on the status.

So they're probibly thinking about it, anyways, so when you say live-action do you mean with actual actors, props, ect..?
So they're probibly thinking about it, anyways, so when you say live-action do you mean with actual actors, props, ect..?
Exactly.
In that Wikipedia entry I assume it's gonna be animated since Madhouse is producing it. Thank goodness too, because live action typically flops.

Dang that's cool, do you guys think wolf is going to be in there or do you think they'll keep him dead? (The whole thing was very saddening)
That's a good question. It all depends on if it's before the anime or after. Shame no details have been released.

Joinage. The manga-ka's art style is hard to understand sometimes (action scenes), but Vash reminds me of Abel Nightroad. That and the whole Angel Arm gimmick.
Welcome. And ya, I agree. The manga's art style makes it hard to understand action scenes. Who's Abel Nightroad?

Trigun is one of my all time favorites. I just wish we could've had a longer running anime. ;_;

weird i thought of that similarity too.
Eris, Abel Nightroad is the main character in Trinity Blood. It's a good one you should check it out

Yeah, he's the guy in my avatar and the GIF in my sig.
Well, most of the action scenes are easy to understand, but some like when Vash breaks his chains in volume 2 , I was trying to figure out how he did it.
http://static.bleachexile.com/manga/trigun/014/Trigun0314_038.jpg
From that picture it doesn't look like his chains are broken.

He breaks it on the next page, which I didn't put up.

Not much was said about it. I saw it under the media section in the Trigun Wiki.
I looked it up and apparently they're going to continue from mid season in the first one and take it in a new direction. Those are only rumors though.

Trigun Maximum is the manga series that picks up where Trigun volume two left off. It's already finished at 14 volumes.

Aidan
04-06-2009, 04:36 AM
it would be interesting if they changed it so instead of being sci-fi super-powerful guy he's just a normal human and had some training earlier from some clandestine army.
Though IIRC they forshadow his being "different" fairly early on.
RipVanRagnarok
04-06-2009, 06:28 AM
Who, Vash?
Vash trains everyday. If you read the Trigun Pilot, you see that he wakes up early and does an exercise routine. Also, he was shown training blindfolded with his revolver and a glass aiming at targets in the air, so Vash isn't all super powerful due to innate strength. His training regimen contributes to it. Not to mention all the scars and prosthetic arm he has.
The Maximum titles is an anime series, NOT a movie.
Ya, but him being a super intelligent plant does help too though :P

GarraoftheGravel
04-10-2009, 09:45 PM
I've always wondered, does the fact that he is a plant explain all the scars (I thought that scars could heal eventually, but his scars look like they were made the previous day -_- )?
RipVanRagnarok
04-11-2009, 06:57 AM
I think he has those from some previous incident(s).
Ya, those are scars from previous situations. Knives was able to heal because he had technology that helped him reconstruct his body.
Aidan
04-12-2009, 06:13 PM
Sounds like I need to read the manga!
RipVanRagnarok
04-12-2009, 06:35 PM
Hmmm...Vash's hate for Knives parallels Abel's for Cain in Trinity Blood. Certain aspects such as them being in space, Knives killing Rem (the equivalent of Cain killing Lilith), their pacifist personas, Angel Arm (Crusnik nanomachines), etc are remarkably similar.
GarraoftheGravel
04-13-2009, 07:22 PM
Well it could be possible that a writer (if there was more than 1) that wrote for Trigun, had a job working on Trinity Blood. Or Trinity Blood's writer liked what he saw on Trigun & tried to emulate Vash (& others) into the anime. Or it could be a fluke (pick your favorate, lol).
Either way, we ended up with a cool anime. so we won in the end ^.^

I wonder if they'll use the same writers.

The manga isn't that long. There's two main volumes, then Maximum has 14, I think.
