Here it is!! The official Sengoku Basara FC for all you people out there who are currently loving this particular anime. Its only just recently started, (3 episodes so far) so for those of you thinking what the hell am i saying, take a look the opening intro of the anime to see whether its the kind of shit you'll enjoy watching!

The anime seems to be out on wednesdays, and you can catch it free on http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/sengoku-basara-episode-1-english-dubbed-online-free . If you can be bothered to download (which i highly recommend) go for the 'Tadashi' Subs.. the resolution is a whole lot better and the quality is still great.

OH MAN...I finally saw the episode. So badass. Keiji is strong, but it seems that even if he lost to Masamune, he didn't actually went all out. Also, can't wait to see who else allies with them. I remember that a lot more people have been presented at the beginning of the first episode. One of them was a little kid with a sword and behind him were some big eyes, like of a dragon or something. curious about it.

btw, the backgrund song when Masamune and Keiji fight is amazing. Really pump's you up!

Keiji is pretty awesome as well. He first appears in episode 3, and his style is sakura blossom, kinda like Byakuya. And to top it all, he might be stronger than Date Masamune.

Pff, that's what you think. He gets beat up by Oyakata-sama so often, that now he is immune to any attack. Masamune went low, and didn't got the chance to train so much. THE FIRE LAND SHALL TAKE THIS, not some north general.

According to wikipedia, apparently there might only be 12 episodes.. They could maybe add in extra stuff and long it out, but so far only 12 are confirmed for schedule. Depends how well it does, if we want to see another season

We should be getting new characters in pretty much every episode as they're trying to recruit other generals and stuff so they can go against nobunaga.. should be good!

i'm gonna have to check this out, the quality looks good, plus i'm used to all the characters from Samurai Warriors (which i freaking LOVE). Obviously Masamune Date is the first, Yukimura Sanada is the second but who's the third guy in the opening credits, at 0:23 seconds? He looks BADASS. If it's Keiji that would be RAD, i love Keiji, although i've been developing other faves, fraid whilst he's a rather obvious choice Yukimura has to be up there too as well as Mitsuhide Akechi.

Nah, in Samurai Warriors Yukimura doesn't have a fire element to him unless you add it yourself, I like him because his Jumonji Yari is awesome, and in Warriors Orochi his R1 move when fully buffed up can kill a general on chaos mode in one hit. Which is very helpful for getting other characters fourth weapons ^_~

And I really don't like Date Masamune, in samurai warriros he's an annoying brattish kid and his move set isn't fantastic.

As for Yama, its not because of his fire that i like him but his epic power and "i dont have time to teach you how to breath/pathetic! making an old man have to fight!" character.

I remember takeda having a mask back in samurai warriors.. they took it off in the anime.. dunno if he still had one in samurai warriors 2 though. I never played orochi, thought it was bit lame for both games mixing.. i much prefer dynasty warriors, and if an anime of that was made.. i would.. do stuff.. stuff i cant mention in case little kids are reading this...

Right well, got round to watching it finally.. turned out i had to end up using MKV for the subs to come on...

This episode was definately different.. alot more story development and little to no action.. but by the looks of it we're going to get alot of action next episode when tokugawa (why is he a little kid btw..) goes on a rampage in a mech!

There are already Mugen versions of all the main characters out already. I got my hands on Date Masamune. I can say that the sprite for him is awesome, not to mention the other characters. Their combos look sick as well.

It looks pretty fun, and looking at it, it looks like tokugawa's mecha isnt the last we'll see.. one of the characters had a bloody LANDWALKER look alike thing!!... lool, and nobunaga is always using his shotgun as usual.. wuss..
Yukimura and Masamune seemed to be the coolest and have the best combo's from the video

ohhh right! yh i remember mugen, but i thought you meant that there was a version of this anime only!.. i liked the fact that you could get real life images in the background, so for example you could be fighting with ryo and masamune outside a starbucks! i thought that was pretty sick

The mugen versions are the EXACT same as the ones in the game. I only tried Date, but his combos are amazing. I just pressed a bunch of random buttons and a whoel bunch of combos came out. Also, he gets Kojuro as an assist character. Now I need to figure out how to do his supers. :push:

Hideyoshi hasnt been shown in the episodes yet, but he's like the one who unified all of japan during the sengoku period... so keep your eyes peeled!

I dont know about strength, i wouldn't say he's super strong, but he did unify japan at the time so he's pretty influential.. and He worked under nobunaga from what the games showed me.. then.. well i cant say, cause it'd spoil what might happen so i'll leave the rest for you to find out!

lool dynasty warriors and samurai warriors are DIFFERENT!!... dynasty warriors is on 'the romance of the three kingdoms' in past china, samurai warriors is on the 'sengoku' period in past japan/edo

guan yu is the shit! but zhao yun is the best...

I like dynasty warriors (both the game and history) more than samurai warriors.. which is why i would do something.. that i cant mention on the internet in case little kids are reading, if they make an anime on dynasty warriors!!

p.s. Lu Bu would kick nobunaga's ass! Keiji included!

samurai warriors is basically.. the same thing.. but with different characters, story, maps, different style of environment/costumes/tactics... but they have the same core... Samurai warriors has ninja's, dynasty warriors doesnt..but i still like dynasty more!

probably not ALL the characters, if theres only going to be around 12 episodes.. but we'll meet the majority im guessing, ones that are popular and helped bring around the unification!

Im not sure what you mean?.. Theres no daimyo's if thats what your trying to say, but there are substitutes for it.. There are three main leaders... there are more but, these are the main main ones.. They each want to unify china during that period, but each have different views on getting to it, and their vision of peace differs..

The leaders or 'daimyos' in this case are Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Jian.. The kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu

dont know what you mean by their 'power' though..?

I mean in the army, when you're fighting in the game (dynasty)...you know you get to fight with "chiefs" on different areas...do each of them are equal in rank/power with Yukimura/Keiji?

I think i know what you mean.. yeah you could say that, but theres not only one like there is in yukimura's case.. theres usually 3 or 4 who are well respected and close to the leader.. and usually they are left in charge of the army/castle when defending/attacking
The leaders arent in every battle, so someone has to take their place temporarily

tbh im not sure... I only played samurai warriors 1, and that was a long time ago.. however i always get the latest installment of dynasty warriors.. im so bloody addicted to it.. but i love it! lol

The one guy i do remember from samurai warriors who we havent seen yet (which i really want to see) is Hanzo Hattori.. He was a sick ninja, who worked for tokugawa.. but in the games he was grown up, not the little kid he is now.. hanzo might make an appearance next episode hopefully..

plus, hanzo and yukimura had some sort of a vandetta with each other.. I'd always see them two fighting each other in the game, and one of the endings it was them two fighting to the death!

Hanzo Hattori?!?! Man's a legend amongst all ninja's. As far as I remember, in the time where the deity's existed, this kid was the first ninja to use powder to his advantage and have the famous ninja disappearing technique and much much more. I'm so looking forward to him in the anime if he ever appears.

I don't think Hanzo will appear. I don't remember. I do know that Fuuma does make an appearance in the game. And Hideyoshi unified Japan when Oda pretty much conquered most of it. (I think) When Oda died from the rebellion of one of his generals, There was a power struggle between some of his generals in which Hideyoshi won.
I just watched the 5th episode. Nagamasa dies... by an execution squad.. I thought he was suppose to commit suicide once he was captured by Oda.
I agree great episode, a lot new faces are appearing and new sides are being drawn.

Having watched it, i can say it was really quite good! Alot of stuff happened, some which took me by surprise, and judging how things have turned out the end result of this will surely lead to a better plot development and more action! Tokugawa was quite a cool dude actually, I didnt think he would be like this, and who on earth was that mecha guy?.. I dont remember him at all lol

Masamune looks PISSED!... haha i wonder what he's going to do! We got to see some ninja reflexes by sasuke too! all in all, 9/10 episode!

I believe that is Tadakatsu Honda. Considered by many one of the strongest generals of the Sengoku period. Comparable with Lu Bu although he is also known as the "Japanese Zhang Fei" which is a great feat because Zhang Fei alongside Guan Yu and Liu Bei defeated Lu Bu. Liu Bei isn't much of a fighter but he was there. lol.

The name was familiar, but i couldn't remember who it was.. Well, i dont remember anyone in a MECHA fighting, so thats probably why. Lu bu was a beast, Zhang fei and Guan yu were amazing, liu bei was just there for the fun of it.

Btw, it wasnt them 3 that made Lu Bu retreat. First lu bu was fighting Gongzun san who was getting battered. Then zhang fei (or guan yu) jump in to help, the other joins and finally liu bei comes as well, so 4 on 1 and lu bu was still doing well.. Until it got too much and had to retreat. I still think of him as the strongest in both of japan and china

No you have that a bit off too. There are many depictions of the fight but yours is a bit off. (I'm sure mine is too due to all the different depictions of the original text but it is closer I believe) It was not a 4 vs 1 because "Gongzun san"(sp) was pretty injured and had retreated and beating him didn't affect Lu Bu and Lu Bu had fought a bunch of other people before hand.
Lu Bu vs Gong San = Lu Bu ownage without breaking a sweat
Lu Bu vs Zhang Fei = Lu Bu has obvious advantage but could not defeat Zhang Fei
Lu Bu vs Zhang Fei+Guan Yu= Big stalemate, both sides were going matching blow for blow
Lu Bu vs Zhang Fei+Guan Yu+Liu Bei= Done for Lu Bu. The brothers could have probably killed him but they wanted to tire and capture Lu Bu.

ahh i see, hmm.. I guess it makes sense, since the encyclopedia never mentioned gongzun san actually fighting because of what was written, 'zhang fei came to gongsun zans aid'.. Gong was probably beaten badly, so thats understandable.. Other than that i was pretty close! ah well, he was still pretty amazing as a fighter..

Yes Capcom makes their characters more unique than Koei. Koei tries to make more traditional with some Western influences on their characters which works but I think it bores me a bit but Capcom experiments and makes them very unique. Yukimaura with 2 spears and Date with 6 blades what more do you want? lol

I liked his techniques: the Cross slash and multiple red beam frontal attack. I would've liked to see more of his techniques, but Date is a monster with his attacks.

I love the anime. It has its serious and funny moments like when Yukimura and Takeda trade blows. I can't wait for the sub of the next episode. I want to see what Date's reaction is and how Yukimura, Takeda, and Sasuke deal with Tadakasu.

I thought it was pretty good, bit more focused on the story this time around, though action wasnt amiss. The death of honda was unexpected.. i actually liked him now, and then he goes and dies
date is just even more badass after that

And mitsuhide seems like he's got some hidden motives of his own.. gotta watch out for that guy, he's a snake! Anyways, next few episodes will be focused on gathering more allies and strengthening the bonds already made, so should be interesting!

If that is the case.... then Japanese studios have really disappointed me again.. A lot of anime is shaping up to be shit and I really hope that doesn't happen to Sengoku Basara. Yea I get it... Yukimaura and Date are the main characters and they come first before the storyline but this.... is just ridiculous. Honda is famous for not getting wounded let alone.... But I will have to check it out myself before I lay real judgement.

Well, It is not just the fact that he was the strongest general, he was famous for not getting hurt and leading his troops. While Lu Bu was a beast, he did get bested by a better military and was executed. Honda was not. I'll get over this. I just hope they don't just center of everything in developing Date and Yukimaura and their conflict and give more show time to other worthy generals/characters.

I just did. Not much happened. To be honest, this feels like a filler. Fillers in a 12 episode series. Not going too well. Still looking forward to some awesome fights. Date's assistant wasn't much of a fighter in history but he was like the only guy that was famous under Date so they had to use him.. Sigh.

Its basically, a (exaggerated) re-enactment of a period in japan. The anime covers some of the main and most important characters/warriors and tries to go through the whole process in a simple and basic outline, with some cool fight scenes, humour, emotional and serious scenes. Watch the first episode or so, to get an idea of what its about.

Its also based on the game, samurai warriors
