That looks like it could be outrageously cool. Plus the kid who plays Aang, from what I can see, looks just like him.

Only way I see this working is if they did more than one movie. Like one for earth, fire, etc.

I am sure that they will do 4 at least as long as this one works out.
Just like other series. sequels are expected now days for these.

I loved Avatar, and I'm happy to see that the movie is looking this good. I will have to keep an eye out for more updates and trailers. :)

I absolutely love the show...it is actually one of my favourites. The director who is pulling this one out doesn't have the greatest record with me, so I will be very disappointed if this turns out to be like many of his other movies. A show like Avatar deserves an epic movie, with actors that actually fit the part and can act decently, and graphics that will make me believe in what I am seeing. I wonder how they are going to portray Appa.
I dont like the kid who is Aang.
Aang is overly happy, sickeningly happy and that kid does not scream happy at me like Aang does.
I was skeptical about Avatar when I first saw it, but the very well choreographed action scenes won me over. The comedy wasn't bad either. As long as that translates to the film I'll be happy enough.
I'm going to wait until we get a full trailer before judging the movie though, it looks a bit meh to me at the moment..
As of right now I'm not even being neutral; I'm leaning towards the idea the film will be terrible. Of course there's almost no information but seeing the people involved and the MEH kid playing Aang- a kid who has apparently done nothing before this?- I'm very iffy. Even the way he's moving in the trailer seems a little stiff but obviously it's not going to be as completely smooth as animation.
here is the cast list:
Jackson Rathbon - Sokka
Nicola Peltz - Katara
Cliff Curtis - Firelord Ozai
Dev Patel - Zuko
Noah Ringer - Aang
Jessica Andres - Suki
Seychelle Gabriel - Princess Yue (rumored)
Shaun Toub - Uncle Iroh
Aasif Mandvi - Commander Zhao
Keong Sim - Earthbending Father
I only watched the first season of the show...people told me that it got really really good that's why im not suprised they are coming out with a film. I like M Nnight... <let the flaming commence

I think the kid looks like he has cancer or something. And there's nothing wrong with M. Night. I just have a problem with him making the movie called M. Night's The Last Airbender. Seriously?
Im sure it has something to do with him writing the story for the film

Why wasn't Lady in the Water called M Night's Lady in the Water? He wrote that as well. Oh wait.. it sucked.... imo. Some people liked it. (I guess?)
It's a caution sign basically. He's implying that he's not going to follow the story and he is going to bastardized it.
it's similar to the bastardization of Sherlock Holmes...
bastardized - thats the new category i created for failed films
