I was curious if anyone here was interested in the activities of knitting, crocheting, weaving, sewing, or any similar crafts. I personally love knitting. I mainly just knit scarves and simple things, though I have made some hats and mittens. There's this one that I started in 7th grade (that's about seven or eight years ago) that is now about 22 feet long. I was planning on stopping it, but I ended up deciding to make it sort of a lifelong project. Is anyone else here interested in these types of things?

No, I probably couldn't, at least not ones you'd want to wear. It's more for fun that for practicality, I couldn't make anything more complex than a hat or scarf. My great aunt is really good at crocheting though.

I come from a long line of award winning quilt sewers but I completely suck at it. :( I did go through a knitting stage though. Nothing fancy, small blankets and scarves. I liked it because it's pretty mindless, gave me something to do while watching TV, and I could stay warm under all the yarn.

Interesting--never met/talked to a guy who enjoys knitting.

I crocheted a bit when I was younger--mom taught me how. I have several friends that do these days, but I haven't gotten back into it. My mom does a ton of quilting. My only talent is sewing in straight lines and serging fabric edges. I think the only reason I would want to learn how to sew would be to make my own clothes. I have expensive taste it seem :push:

Omg. No. None of this. Ever. I don't like that. So boring. Not to mention- I can't do that.

I wanted to get into weaving and crocheting but I have yet to find a particular class to help me attain the experience... I've heard it was comforting and pleasant as well. My grandma knitted and it was always fun to watch her do that. It is a nice skill set to acquire so I would like to start learning how to do it. Reading is also relaxing but sometimes I get too excited when I am reading a good book and can barely sit down.

I do knit when it's cold outside and I'm tired of browsing the internets. I'm kinda bad at it, can't even knit a scarf! I'm better at sewing in that case, I used to make clothes for my dolls when I was a kid, now I do bags and shit instead since I hate my dolls nowadays. :(

I don't think Id have the intention span to even try to learn how to pick this hobby. I'm sorry but I don't think I could do this without falling asleep on the project that knitting or crocheting or simply threading cloth together.

My oldest sister can do it and she is a master at it, but i have no interest really, and I would get bored of it in no time really

I like knitting. So far I have only knit some scarves and caps. My fave shop is Atelier in San Francisco on Divisidero St. Sadly, I haven't been there in a while since I no longer live in San Fran and the traffic there sucks donkey ass. :yorucat:
