Well, I guess since filler doesn't count for anything most don't care to chat about it. Rangiku and Haineko have been seen in the zan arc a decent bit, but haven't really done anything very noteworthy.

Manga wise we still have to wonder if she's ok after Allon took out a chunk of her, and whether or not anything will happen between her and Gin together on the battlefield now.

The fillers do have a purpose and that like you said is basically to give the manga more time to stay ahead. However they still don't count as in they are not canon and do not matter to the real story. No matter what happens in a filler, it doesn't change the main storyline. They could kill off all the Gotei 13 in a filler, but it won't count because they will all be there and fine once the real story continues.

That said, the way they made Haineko's spirit in the filler is decent looking and not bad for a humanoid form, but it's not the real Haineko (they did change Zabimaru and Hyorinmaru too, and those we saw the REAL forms of before the filler). I want to see Kubo's official version in the manga sometime, that'll be the one to really talk about.
