Itsuki "Ikki" Minami, is a student and a delinquent. Also known as the "Unbeatable Babyface", Ikki is the leader of the youth gang by the name of "East Side Gunz". Upon his return home, after being humiliated by a Storm Rider team called the Skull Saders, Ikki discovers a secret hidden from him by his benefactors, the Noyamano sisters. The sisters belong to a group of Storm Riders who go by the team name of Sleeping Forest. In the anime, learning the sisters' secret angers him and he steals a pair of Air Trecks, abbreviated as "AT". (In the manga, the sisters give a pair of ATs to him and invite him to skate with them.) Ikki eventually settles his grudge with the Skull Saders, but in the process he receives more than the simple satisfaction of revenge. Determined to experience the sensation of "flight" for as long as he can, Ikki is quickly engaged in the mysterious, irresistible world of Air Treks.

No there is no bird in the manga. One of the many reasons why the manga kicks ass.
Well there is a bird, but he doesnt show up very often. And never infront of boobs.

I'd have to say Simca is one of my favorites as well... always scheming and plotting something. Kazu is pretty sick too, it's about time he got some love from the writers... I just finished reading up to 178, so I'm anticipating the next release. Great manga!

anyway , read this cool manga some time now . It way ok I guess . Agito/Akito were my fav. character/s . I always find a double personally person very intriguing . You can get a lot of awesome stuff from that kind , especially the amusin' part. And the whole angel/devil thing is pure classic .

AIR GEAR has always been on my top list for the anime.
I found it on BE to read the manga up to date on this site.
The manga is not as fun as the series but yes ASH no bird is nice.
I do like the voice actors from Air gear anime.
Agito and others selves amuse me greatly when he goes off on people!
The tuners were very nice thing to throw into the series, after the 100meter jump series ended. also explained my favorite scene with Simca in the bed
(where I PICKED UP ON THE MANGA FOR MY FIX)
I will buy the box set ASAP $$$ is available.

I'm a pretty decent fan of this manga. Not too shabby, in my opinion.

Any fan will admit the artwork is so exaggerated it makes it hard to follow the story. Better to read it like in sections of a few chapters in a row and go back for a re read. You might find a few hidden jokes. The anime is better in English to me. Mainly because I liked agito better in that for sure.
