To start im a relatively big fan of Fedor. Me and my buddy got into an arguement with him stating that he's avoiding UFC cuz their quality in fighters in the heavyweight division is better than pride and that he is afraid to lose his amazing record. I'm wondering what others have to say bout this idea.

It's likely that Fedor's management that's stopped him from joining the UFC so far, they don't like the contract being offered, especially when they are making quite a large chunk of money as is. I don't believe for one second that Fedor is scared of the UFC HW fighters. I think he would likely beat all before him, some pose a threat for sure but at HW Fedor is the most well rounded fighter who never loses his focus and has a true killer instinct in the ring, he also fights intelligently and figures people out like he did in his last fight against Rogers.

i'm a fedor fangirl
as tgf said, it's a contractual thing  iirc they originally rejected the contract because UFC wouldn't let him enter sambo tourneys.
i would totes love to see him there though, and give UFC some class & dignity :xp:

Yeah jeux I'd be a Fedor fangirl myself if it weren't for the small fact that I'm a guy:biggrin:.
He is amazing though, basically undefeated, that one loss is ridiculous really. His record speaks for itself, I would like to see him in the UFC if for no other reason than to silence the Fedor haters! which he no doubt would do, and in style!

It was that and I also read that Fedor's management wanted the UFC to build an arena in Russia. I believe he only has two fights left with strikforce so hopefully Fedor and the UFC can start up the talks again, Fedor vs Brock would be fun to watch.

@ moleculo ,Yeah I've heard the Russian stadium rumour along with some equally odd ones, to be fair a lot of accusations have been thrown around by both Zuffa and M-1, I would imagine the truth lies somewhere in the middle ground.
@Jeux , Yeah Brock poses some interesting problems for anyone at HW, Brock's athleticism and wrestling are formidable and he seems to learn things at an impressive rate. I think Fedor would take it though, he has very fast had speed and better technique than Brock at present, he also is a very intelligent fighter in that he figures other fighters out incredibly quickly and adapts to situations very well. For those reasons I think Fedor would beat Brock.
ufc pays their fighters in dirt compared to how much the owners are raking in.

To be fair the big name fighters get paid pretty well, GSP, Brock etc.. But they make up only a very small amount of the fighters under contract, the lower tier guys get paid very little, I think the incentive is that they are in the UFC and if they impress then bigger pay days lie ahead. It's not perfect by any means but until there is some real competition then the UFC can pay whatever they want unfortunately.

randy's paycheck is about the same amount as the losers combined payout at ufc 109 (250,000).
some homeboy got paid $4,000 at ufc 109. stink bey.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous when you put it like that. In the UFC's defense Randy was most definitely the biggest draw on that card.
It was Torres that got the shafting with the $4,000 pay out, that's bad pay no matter what way you look at it, hopefully he made another couple of grand from the advertising, as it costs a considerable amount of money to train with the right guys to have success in the UFC, it was his UFC debut though and whilst he is a young prospect he is pretty unknown, still $4,000 is low.
What annoys me most is that Rolles Gracie got paid $15,000 for what was possibly the poorest performance and worst fight I've seen in the Zuffa era.

Yeah Timmah got annihilated in that fight, I think it lasted 36 seconds or something like that, crazy.
