History of an american comicbook fan pt.2

part.2, the art of the deal

The #1 most important thing about comic book collecting is being able to get the comics you want as cheap as possible.
for instance an average price for a new comic is 4.00 dollars so for 40 dollars i can buy 10,but i buy my comics for around 40cents apiece so that means i get 100 comics for 40 dollars.

not that i dont buy some new but i mainly buy used, the only bad thing about used is having to wait.

flea markets,antique mall,yard sales,and comic books conventions.
otherwise known as the holy grail of comic collecting.
the main difference between the 4 is at an antique mall the vendors arent there in person therefore you cannot try to deal.

flea markets,
some of my happiest memories as a child are running around the dirt grounds of flea markets, seeing all the toys, games, books, tools, and everything else thats at a fleamarket.
smelling the funnel cakes, getting free samples of beef jerky, playing with the kids of the vendors.

antique malls.
no running here, but one cool thing i remember about these places is each booth seemed like a mini museum of the individual.
you see theyre clothes, furniture, jewelry, as well as records, books, and pretty much everything about this persons style and personality.

The art of the deal.
1 thing i hate is cocky dealers who say what theyre tryin to sell me is valuble when by the way they take care of and present it they obviously dont think it valuble.

i had a guy tell me a mad magazine was worth 25 dollars, when it was unbagged sitting on the floor under the table, the guy in front of me was standing on it.

the bad thing about flea markets is vendors basically wipe theyre ass with a comic and then tell you its rare and valuble and try to sell it to you for 20 bucks.
if you want me to take you seriously when you say its valuble do these things to a comic.

#!. have it bagged and boarded,if you cant spend 50cents to do this donet expect me to pay you more than 50cents.

2#have the comics easy to get ot and facing the same direction.and in a proper comics box,

#3, do not use them as a coaster or have them laying on the floor.

#4,price them accurataly, if you cant do this you have no business tryin to sell them for more than a quarter.

#5,dont be an ass,if i could go to a comicbook store and buy it for 5 dollars why would i come to a flea market to pay 15?
