Smart People

Dialup was bad enough when most websites were designed with it in mind. I can't imagine trying to deal with something like Facebook or the New York Times website in dialup. Eugh.

One of my courses the prof put all the readings online so we didnt have to buy them, and another put half of the readings up, so that we only had to buy 2 books... so that 600 i paid was for three and a half courses, minus the ones i just didnt buy. I cant even imagine how much it wouldve cost if i had to buy all of it

It's a bit ridiculous. I think textbooks are a good place to introduce ebook technology, they're one place where lessening the load to carry around is a legitimate excuse... some of those books, especially biology and chemistry ones, are like 20 lbs each. Plus, if they just released them digitally they wouldn't have to charge as much because they'd save on paper, printing, shipping, stocking, etc. Just give all the kids Kindles or netbooks or something.

I hate how text books are so expensive, and i never read them -__-
I didnt even buy a bunch of my books and it still cost 700$. I dont even understand how one book could be more than 50 dollars, let alone 200. It doesnt make sense

My textbooks came to $337 total two quarters in a row. That's per quarter, and there are three quarters per year. (plus summer)

I have to pay $55 + price of books to go to my university. My scholarships took care of everything. I only took out a loan this semester to get my computer and then possibly pay off my car next semester. Then im going to start paying the interest on the two student loans i had which shouldnt be too much to start.
