I'm with 1u&2d on this one.

I wish Kishimoto would have fleshed out Shizune's character more before he killed her off. I mean we have barely seen anything of Chouji's dad, yet he survives. And Shizune seems like a more important character, yet she dies. Kishimoto probably killed her off to help add more depth to Tsunade's character.

Naw she's probably dead. She holds no importance in the story, so her death is fine with me.

Shizune might be not quite dead yet. It wasn't exactly the death god that Sarutobi summoned their souls might return.

yeah most of the citizens were enveloped by the slugs, protecting them, so they weren't all killed. Most people have forgotten about shizune being dead though, that seems glossed over entirely. She constitutes a character death, thus improving the chances of all other characters.

If they were white snakes that mistake would be more acceptable.

Wouldn't Tsunade already call for the evacuation like how it was done when the Sand and Sound attacked.

Kind of seems useless since most people are now dead. Pein used a surprise attack, so unless all citizens are fast moving ninja, most are dead now.
