Within the dark clouds that sometimes cover the skies, the ones that produces brilliant displays of lightning, Yushutsu Kuukuu resides. Her complexion is pale, her figure is full and alluring. A robe of red satin drapes over the curves of her body, her back is bare. Her eyes seem full of life. To see as Yushutsu Kuukuu sees is to know every pulse of electricity that seethes through the earth and the heavens. She is incomparably sensuous and yearns for the pleasures of battle.
Unreleased:
The handle is grooved wood, a deep mahogany in tone with a rounded bottom. A grooved pattern goes down the handle. Unlike most Katana shaped Zanpakutōs, Yushtsu Kuukuu has no gaurd and the blade is straight.
The blade becomes scythe-like, it pulses electricity, a humming noise emits from it. The long pole is wrapped in a tan leather. The gaurd is an orb with a circular decoration on it. This is a red color. The handle alternates in a red and tan pattern.
Latent effect: Efferent sight
Spoiler:
By holding Yushutsu Kuukuu, the wielder is given a map of the body's nervous and spiritual points overlaid on his vision. Yushutsu Kuukuu's blade numbs and dulls the ability of nerves to receive orders from the central nervous system by shocking parts of the body with electrical currents. By making parts of the opponent's body temporarily unresponsive, critcal strikes can be achieved. Each strike is aimed at specific groups of nerves, and each strike paralyzes for about 5 seconds.
Ability:Sever
Spoiler:
Sever is an ability which extends a field around the wielder that has a 15 yard radius. An opponent entrapped within the field will have to avoid blows directed towards important parts of the nervous system. Each blow is an attempt to cut off a part of the user's nerves from the central nervous system by damaging the group with large electrical shocks. Each blow requires a different stance to preform, although the blows are practically consecutive. The field labors the depth perception of the opponent, causing mental stress from a lack of accurate perception. Strength of will and a stronger spiritual pressure may overcome this disorientation. The wielder attempts as many blows as possible within 15 seconds.
Bankai: Yushutsu Kuukuu Kantsuu [輸出 空空 貫通] (Lit. Efferent Void Pierce)
Release command: Strike from the sky, Yushutsu Kuukuu Kantsu
Spoiler:
Appearance:
The wielder's clothing streamlines itself into a sleek, gun metal armor with the circular design that was prominent on the Shikai on the back of the armor. The head of the user is covered by a visor that appears to be made of glass. The material from which the armor is made from is a combination of hardened leather and rubber. The blade turns into a long pole-arm, there is no cutting edge, but two handguards on the pole. A cone shaped object is at the end. This is used to gather and store static energy for high voltage electrical bursts.
Latent ability: Efferent Sight
Spoiler:
The ability remains the same as in Shikai, but the field is intensified to track movement more accurately. Serves as a sort of targeting device for the wielder.
Latent ability: Tuono
Spoiler:
This ability is triggered whenever the wielder releases a discharge of static energy. When Tuono is activated, a massive, echoing wall of sound emits from the area that was effected by the discharged burst. The intensity (Db level) relates directly to the amount of energy discharged.
Ability: Fulmine
Spoiler:
By discharging Reiatsu energy, the user is propelled high into the air and is sent hurtling back down. The Lance gathers energy on the ascent and when it strikes the ground, it releases an explosive burst of Static energy (Electricity) into a concentrated blast that has a high chance of killing if the target is hit directly. If hit by the splash from the strike, the opponent will be left shaking off a large electrical shock.
Ability: Saetta
Spoiler:
Saetta is an ability that creates a number of smaller strikes by using the momentum from each strike to propel the user back in the air to strike at the ground again. This ability is imprecise and less effective than Fulmine, but can cause a great amount of damage and cover large amounts of space. While using this ability, the same spot is never struck twice.
Ability: Parafulmine
Spoiler:
Parafulmine is an aimed strike of 'lightning' preformed in the air, Using Efferent sight, a target is marked. Then by discharging a mixture of Reiatsu and Static energy, 'lightning' strikes the target. This move is performed in the air, the wielder marks a spot on the ground, this is the target. The strike may not deviate from the targeted spot on the ground, IE:The opponent moves out of the way, the 'lightning' misses'.Force is gathered on the way up, so to perform the move again, the wielder must descend to the ground and propel themselves high into the sky again.
Zanpakuto #2:
Hall of Fame entry:
Sono Kuuchuu Ue Za Unabara
Spoiler:
Spirit/Mythos:
Spoiler:
In the realm of Sono Kuuchuu Ue Ze Unabara, there is no land. The sea has consumed the land, and the sky watches the sea. The duality of the Zanpakuto's ability are representative of two twin spirits. The Sea, Umi is a gluttonous individual who wishes to devour everything, greedily, he looks up towards his beautiful twin sister, Sora, the sky and wishes to devour her and her domain. Sora, the sky realizes that while Umi wishes to devour her realm and her, she cannot be ever truly harmed by her brother. She is the sky, she inspires awe and favors the freedom of the air, rarely manifesting her physical form. When physically manifested, she stands with grace. A thin, somewhat pale beauty with vibrant, kind eyes and an expression of caring upon her visage. By contrast, her brother Umi is a stock, obese man with blackened skin and greedy, hateful eyes and an expression of lust told by the deep lines in his pudgy visage. He places a burden upon the user's body, not out of malice, but as an extension of his personality. The two are not kindred spirits, but due to their need for one another, they are forced to be interconnected.
Constantly released, no known sealed form.
SHIKAI
Sono Kuuchuu Ue Za Unabara
[其の 空中 上 ザ 海原]
(The sky over the sea)
Spoiler:
Appearance:
Spoiler:
A Tanto with a lined wave pattern on the hilt. The blade's sky blue color gives it a distinct look to it. As The Sky Upon the Seas is constantly released, it has developed a Sheath with the same 'wave pattern' that lines the hilt.
Constant ability:
Sora
(Sky)
Spoiler:
The Sky Upon the Sea's defensive ability lies partly within manipulation of atmosphere's levels. Normally it matches the current level of the atmosphere, although at high altitudes, it will be noticeably thicker in oxygen. The ability to manipulate atmosphere levels is limited within an 8 foot radius of the user and as the user increases this field, the more reiatsu is spent, the constant level kept normally expends reiatsu but at such a small percentage that it's not noticeable to even the person maintaining the field. The field thins the atmosphere as long as the user maintains a steady level of reiatsu within the field. The thinner the the atmospheric level is, the more reiatsu is expended. Put simply: More reiatsu, less density within the area, making breathing within the area more difficult. Sora can only elevate pressure to a certain point and it can only bring the density down to sea level.
Ability:
Umi
(Sea)
Spoiler:
Umi temporarily nullifies the effects of Sora and causes a field of pressure to rise, the effects of which emulate being underwater at depths the human body cannot normally withstand for extended periods of time.. Movement is labored and the body is put under pressure. The user is affected by the field as well, but to a ,much lesser extent than the opponent due to familiarity with the varying levels of pressure. Umi can only increase pressure, and cannot lift pressure above sea level.
Ability:
Odori wo Kuuchuu to Sono Unabara
(Dance of the Sky and the Sea)
Spoiler:
Odori wo Kuuchuu to Sono Unabara is a striking ability. By mixing Sora and Umi, the field becomes a disorienting place for the opponent. Movement is momentarily increased for the wielder by bringing the atmosphere around the wielder to the uppermost level of atmosphere, the exopshere. By doing so, there is little to no resistance to the wielder's mass, thus increasing speed. The major drawback being, oxygen is non-existent in this area, and the wielder's increase in speed is extremely limited. When the blade stabs an opponent, It 'steals' the air from the opponent's body and sends a wave of pressure into the body of the opponent, damaging the opponent internally.
BANKAI:
Sono Taishita Shahai Kuuchuu Uede Ze Kuroi Unabara
[其の 大した 遮蔽 空中 上で ザ 黒い 海原 ]
(The great shielding sky upon the dark sea)
Spoiler:
Appearance:
Spoiler:
A blade defined by it's apparent lack of a cutting edge and it's mysterious submerged appearance, the mysteries and beauty of Sono Taishita Kuuchuu Uede Ze Kuroi Unabara have inspired tales nearly as long-winded and majestic as the blade's name. Light dapples the blade as if it's still underwater.
Ability:
Hogo wo Sora
(Shelter of the Sky)
Spoiler:
Hogo wo Sora is one of two layers acting as a defense and an offense for the wielder in Bankai. It occupies a five foot radius around the wielder, and keeps the air thin in all areas of the field except within the immediate vicinity of the wielder's being. In addition to this, the wielder can bring the levels of oxygen to a nearly non-existent level around him, this nearly airless area of space effectively takes away the ability to breath. However, to amplify the field's intensity, the outer field (Hogo wo Umi) and the field must be temporarily inactive in addition to the immediate cushion of air that wraps around the wielder.
Ability:
Hogo wo Umi
(Shelter of the Sea)
Spoiler:
Hogo wo Umi is the second field surrounding the wielder in Bankai, it creates an atmosphere that will slow down anyone who enters because of the thick pressure in the air. The level of mobility could be compared to a humans mobility while swimming. This field functions similarly to Hogo wo Sora except instead of preventing breath by lessening the density of the atmosphere. Hogo wo Umi cannot seriously harm the opponent, but it can greatly reduce mobility.
Ability:
Seichou Sora
(lit. Clear Sky)
Spoiler:
Seichou Sora creates a large atmosphere field that can be deployed in a split second for offensive and defensive purposes. When deployed, Seichou Sora creates an 'exosphere within it's dome. The wielder's speed is brought up due to the lack of resistance to mass in the area. Each time the wielder successfully strikes the opponent, Seichou Sora will actively drain oxygen from the opponent's body by creating a vacuum where it cuts. However, the field's longevity is limited due to both the wielder and the opponent's need for air.
Ability:
Anzen Kaiyou
(Dark Ocean)
Spoiler:
Anzen Kaiyou is a pressure field that converges on the opponent gradually. when deployed, the light within the field's area seem to disappear, as if deep underwater. Movement is sluggish for an adversary, but is significantly less so for the wielder, it takes great strength and familiarity to the depth for the wielder to move with any amount of speed in this zone. The opponent has the opportunity to escape the field before it descends, as bringing Anzen Kaiyou out onto the field of battle requires time and focus. However, if trapped, the pressure will increase around the opponent's body, as if they were being dragged down into the black depths of the ocean. The pressure will eventually reach a point where it can crush steel. However, at this point, the field only lasts a short time before dissipating into the sky. At this point, surviving is a test of bodily endurance for the opponent. The field will not physically harm the wielder merely because the bulk of the pressure is focused on the opponent, however, the wielder's visibility is nil due to the light being blocked out.
