The Dragons of the Mist
The name Dragons of the Mist are given to dragons grown by a secretive group of alchemists known as the Blackshrouds, somewhere in the misty, magical Blackwoods forest. They done various experiments on various breeds of dragons they collected from across the Lands of Perils, resulted in a vast amounts of dead bodies and corpses of dragons, which due to the unknown magical feats of the Blackwoods forest quickly dissolve and become one with the humus and mosses of the forest floor, not letting any foul odor and rotting flesh happen.
Nevertheless, though insignificant compared to the amount of failures, the Blackshrouds succeeded in creating new breeds of dragons with unique, and some of them violent, traits and abilities. Legends tell that there were seven Dragons of the Mist. The last two, Jarkul Dramargahn and Haelyn Woodswyrm possesses abilities that at the end enables them to escape from the grasp of the mad alchemists and tried to lead the other five to freedom. Dramargahn created such an elaborate illusions and lured the alchemist to unlock the cages and bars for the dragons to go out and fly away.
But since they were grown in the exposure of the mists of the Blackwoods forest, once they took flight away from the forest, their bodies disintegrated violently and disappears within seconds. Knowing this, Dramargahn tried to pull Woodswyrm back into the mist, but then realized that she was not affected by the binding effect due to her abilities. It's a peace and calming aura which affects those who are physically close to her, thus protected Dramargahn in their escape flight.
For long, he traveled everywhere together with her, fearing that he would suffer the same fate of the other five should he go away from her. But later, they found that as they travel further from the forest, the binding effect grows thin and finally disappears.
Then the two decided to go separate ways.
Haelyn Woodswyrm is a legendary guardian of the vast Gravinwoods forest, east of the gleaming City of Pfarvaldar.
Haelyn is one of the last of her kind, the Dragons of the Mist, born with a unique, invisible aura of influence that affects her surroundings. It gives the feeling of serenity and peace around the cave where she lives, thus many creatures take refuge in the vicinity of her dwelling and make it a safe haven that protects them from the brutality and violence of the beautiful forest.
Due to this condition, she is bound to stay in the center of the forest. If she leaves, serenity would be gone, and chaos would destroy the forest swiftly.
The other Dragon of the Mist is a male dragon, Jarkul Dramargahn, the guardian of Mount Sharvandar, the Mountain of Kings.
Jarkul Dramargahn is one of the last two Dragons of the Mist alive in the realm of the Lands of Perils. He lives around the clouds and fog of the Mountain of Kings.
The Mountain of Kings is the one place where the people bury their kings along with their favorite treasures and valuables, during the Black Age that destroyed the land and gave birth to its name.
His task is to provide a series of tests to the people who take the mountain pass past the great Helvin Bridge. He drops images and illusions into the mind, to give them visual choices to take. The choices are always the same : Earthly riches and wisdom, with different themes according to the feats, memories and traits.
They who fail the tests are given a last illusion to lure them off the cliffs.
The Baardard Nikhim
There were many dragon hunters groups in the Lands of Perils, and Baardard Nikhim was one among few with both attitude and wealth worth respect.
They have many bases spread across the land, including sea fleets, forest watchtowers, cavern burrows and even mountain halls to keep their loots and dragons.
These are but a few of their stories, found in scribes, journals and parchments found by various efforts in trying to keep their violent ways at bay.
Khraxx Galaxx was owned by Valina Jafina, one of the great leader of the Baardard Nikhim, a group of dragon hunters from the eastern borders of the Lands of Perils. They are said to be the most successful pair in the long history of the dragon hunters, and their reputation was whispered with fear among the dragon communities and lairs throughout the land.
They were last seen leading the group chasing a Hellfire Wyvern beyond the borders of Manticula Vex, a desert in the northern area of the Lands of Perils.
They never come back, and no one know what happened to the dragon hunters.
Near the Lands of Perils, deep in the vast, desolate desert of Manticula Vex, lives Gorak Barimm, a Hellfire Wyvern exiled from his volcanic dwellings due to his unique, calm behavior. He used to live in a cave near the Horad's Peninsula, until he was lost to a fight with a powerful wizard who desperately wanted to seize the cave for unknown purposes.
Barimm lives for a long time in the desert, and rumor spreads of a lone Hellfire Wyvern lives in a rocky cave, ready to be caught. Many sought to seize him, but all fails due to the harsh environment, and Barimm's fiery defense when they successfully reach his lair.
Even the feared dragon hunters group Baardard Nikhim lost one of their respected leader trying to seal him.
The Tale of the Southshores Bind
The Tale of Southshores Bind tells a story about a relationship between two dragons of different races, the Deep Sea Dragons and Waterhorse Dragons races, who are known for their long history of adversary.
The tale originates from the finding of ancient scrolls and journals of the infamous dragon hunters group known as the Baardard Nikhim, when queen Mara Shirania ordered her assassins to wipe out the entire members of one of the group's fleet base out of anger due to their raid on her firstborn son's ship.
The queen learned about the story from the passages about the sinking of one of their elite ship due to a violent encounter with a Deep Sea Dragon in the middle of their quest of catching a certain Waterhorse Dragon.
The story touched her so much, knowing the background history of the two dragon races, and the fact that her ancestors were involved in the great war known as the Black Age when different races fought to claim ownership of the once vast and rich world, resulted with the great losses of the fighting races and the ruining of the world, leaving a world of desolated and barren lands known as The Lands of Perils. She then began to use it as goodnight storytelling to her younger and only son to teach him about friendship as an effort to put ideas in his mind that differences are not to be taken as a reason to hate, but to love and complete each other.
A maid of the castle learned of the story, and began to tell it to her children, and the story quickly spread across the kingdom, and finally reached a certain fisherman lived on a peninsula just south of the city borders. Farharn Ban'nim recognized the story and the truth behind it from the two Waverunner Dragons found and owned by his daughter, who told him about distant friends of them whose fate was so similar, involving a group of dragons hunters, and the sinking of their ship as they tried to flee.
The Ban'nim family then started to tell and spread the story confirming the original story told by the queen, and it finally reached the queen's court. Queen Mara then ordered Farharn to come and tell the story himself in front of her. Instead, the Ban'nim family took with them the two Waverunner Dragons to tell the story with crisp and clear details. The whole court was amazed, maybe due to the magical traits of the Waverunners when they told the story, and the tale became one of the early efforts in keeping and maintaining peace across the Lands of Perils. Every time people pass on the story, both listeners and storytellers can feel the emotions involved between Hakh'al Mumbadii and Marthil Hadad, thus gives them the urge to pass it on.
Hakh'al Mumbadii was one of the deep sea dragons who was once colonized the seabeds of the calm Oceans of the Southshores. He was born with unique physical traits that forbid him to go to shallower depths. Thus, the dark and gloomy parts of the deep was all he had to live with.
He had a friend, Marthil Hadad, who used to tell stories about the beauty of the surface world, and they shortly brought together to a bound of friendship for hundreds of years.
Hakh'al died when he tried to help her from getting slaughtered by the Baardard Nikhim, a group of dragon slayers from the East. He decided to brave himself and swim to the surface to give aid to the distressed waterhorse dragon, and successfully made the dragon slayers fled for their lives due to his violent attack. Despite the efforts, Marthil Hadad already sustained mortal wounds and nearing death, while Hakh'al finally found out how cruel shallow waters could do to him. Their helpless bodies slowly sank to the depths of the sea.
Marthil Hadad was a waterhorse dragon, usually seen prancing on the surface when ships and cruisers sailed the waters near her colony habitat. People found her unique behavior quite entertaining
She had a friend, a deep sea dragon named Hakh'al Mumbadii, who loved to listen to her tales and stories about the beautiful life on the surface, because he was born with unique physical traits that made him unable to go near the shallower depths. Their friendship endured hundreds of years, and within those years she learned how to transfer her feelings telepathically, so she could describe the beauty of the sun's dawn to him, along with the warmth of its light.
But humans' greed finally got to her, when the Baardard Nikhim, a group of dragon slayers from the East set sail to hunt down the pretty waterhorse dragon. She tried to struggle against them, but humans' arsenal of cruelties finally able to inflict mortal wounds on her. She died along with Hakh'al who tried to help her.
The Solstice Dragons < NEW!
It is well-known among scribers and storytellers that there's a fun-loving, brilliant-brained Professor Jahred Margul who lives in a foreign country, far across the Westbound Sea - "Farlands", as described in a more familiar way.
The eccentric, yet friendly professor conducts unending experiments and inventions, which mainly for his own benefits, though sometimes he dedicates his creations to help his fellow townfolks and farmers in their businesses.Among those creations, The Solstice Dragons are known to be the greatest ones.
Professor Jahred Margul loves sunbathing and recreational picnics. And the only perfect season to do those things is the Farlands Summer with its hot, sunny weather and the low humidity. So, he modified a Seasonal Summer Dragon to be able to absorb the energy of the sun, and control the humidity of the air around him. And thus was born Summersun.
His magical traits activate during the Summer season of Farlands. He sunbathes during the day, and releases the energy during the night, along with his ability to control the humidity of the evening air. Though harmless and with a small area of effect, the released sun's energy is enough for the professor to continue his sunbathing and picnic schedule around his laboratory with Summersun lazily floats in the air yawning and waiting for the sunrise to repeat the process again.
Greyfall is one of the Solstice Dragons created and/or modified by Professor Jahred Margul of the Farlands. Greyfall's magical traits activate during the autumn season of the Farlands. His magical traits are mainly psychological: The magical aura induces the calm, melancholy feelings to whoever present within its vicinity, which usually gives them the urge to write poetry, cry over sad stories, or just close their eyes and enjoy the cool breeze of the air.
Snowbreed is one of the Solstice Dragons of the Farlands. Snowbreed's magical traits activate during the winter season of the Farlands. They involve mainly atmospheric influences, including cold breeze, snowflakes, hails, and sometimes auroras. It is also recorded that, in rare occasions, Snowbreed even controls the cold weather of winter, to make it less freezing for the living things in the surrounding area to endure and survive.
The professor is yet to find a Seasonal Dragon's spring egg, due to the difficulty to obtain it.

Seriously, though, the most interesting thing about this manga was that gender roles were almost entirely reversed. By far the strongest and most central characters to the story were overwhelmingly female. It's true that they were under the thumb of a very male, very chauvinistic organization for the majority of the series, but with the organization having pretty much just been overthrown and the claymores being truly free for the first time in their history I don't think it's time to make them all follow some guy around who's major claim to fame is being the former central character's pet.
I know Teresa set a precedent with Clare, but repeating that with Raki would be kinda lame. I'd much rather see him become a leader of the humans and organize them to support the claymores in their campaign across the sea or something like that.
As for Clare, if she does return I just want her to stop sulking all the time. I know the closest thing she had to a mother was beheaded right in front of her, which really sucks, but hopefully taking out Priscilla will take a weight off and allow her to lighten up. That was the best thing about Teresa: her intrinsic understanding of the situation she found herself in.
She recognized the motives of the ones who sold her to the organization, the Yoma she was tasked to kill, the villagers she saved...for a price they could barely afford, maybe even the organization itself, and she managed to find the humor in the inanity of it all. That's why I think she was always smiling. She knew the secret, and instead of rebelling against it like Miria, she just rolled with it...until Clare came along.
Hey, maybe that's why I find Clare so annoying. If it weren't for her, Teresa would still be alive, but, then again, I guess she would've never found a reason for living. She woulda just remained the broken, heartless tool she was before Clare made her whole again. I'm still trying to decide which fate would be better, which would be worse.

I'd say it's the part about becoming whole again. And finding a reason to go on living. I mean, would you rather your favorite character to not find a reason to live, and just go on living while thinking of dying (potentially)?
But yeah, the main reason Clare was always sulking and was pissed was because of Teresa's death and the fact that Priscilla, the one responsible, was still alive and well. So hopefully, once she returns to the story after having defeated Priscilla, she'll be happier and less sulky.

The Realm of Kokuraimaru is a huge, wide, endless plain covered with countless craters, gashes, and burn-marks, while also being shrouded in darkness, as it is always nighttime there. There is a faint, eerie glow however, due to there being a group of extremely dense storm clouds present in the sky, from which high voltage lightning comes out to scorch the ground. There are also strong and violent gales that constantly blow in this inner world.
The storm clouds almost always have in them thunderstorms that have black lightning with a dark-blue outline. That black lightning within the inner world is itself Kokuraimaru. He is everywhere within this realm, as an almost omnipresent being.
As he is made purely of lightning, he is actually able to take virtually any form he wants (note: this ability does not translate into Shikai or Bankai; it is Kokuraimaru's ability alone). Whenever I go into my inner world outside of Bankai, Kokuraimaru would take his lightning form out of the other places and present most of it in front of me temporarily in the form of free-flowing lightning (for the amount of time that I am in the inner world).
He was not always a Zanpakutō Spirit. Originally, he was Raijin, the Japanese Shinto god of storms, thunder and lightning. He "died" and later reincarnated as my Zanpakutō with some help from Ouetsu (creator of Zanpakutō) in the process of becoming my Zanpakutō, according to what he's told me. He has a companion wolf made of the same dark blue energy as he is, with his body wrapped in lightning. His name is Kokuraiko ([黒雷子] Dark Lightning Child) and he is an incarnation of Raijū, who is said to be a companion of Raijin in Japanese mythology and Shintoism. Whenever black thunderstorms are occurring, he gets agitated and creates trouble within this Realm. Kokuraimaru has to flex his reiatsu to calm him down. Sometimes, when that is not enough, I have to weigh in with my own reiatsu.
In character, Kokuraimaru is kind and strong-willed, but is sometimes easily angered. When we get into arguments, there are times when he tends to get a little cranky when he is unable to get the last word and/or "win" the argument. He also has a very bad habit of coming off as arrogant without meaning to, oftentimes. Kokuraiko is the same in personality as Kokuraimaru.
When we spar, he takes the form of a man wielding his Shikai sword. When I visit the inner world in Bankai, there is a noticeable change in the inner world to represent that: the complete lack of black thunderstorms due to the fact that, in Bankai, he is permanently in his "human" form, as a master swordsman Spirit that is 6ft in height, has almost no weight due to being lightning, and blue eyes and blue-black hair that reaches down to his waist, hanging loose (untied).
In his "human" form, he is dressed in a samurai get-up that is enough of a darker blue that it looks almost black, except he is barefoot. He wields the same sword I have in Bankai. The belt on the outfit is black, with the kanji for "black" on the left strap of the belt tie and the kanji for "lightning" on the right one. Kokuraimaru is ancient himself, but his "human" form looks to still be in his 20s, and is also seemingly lean and well-built. On his back, with their top sides facing forward, are three black drums with three tomoe on each of them. There are no drumsticks to go with the drums, but they are not needed as Kokuraimaru is able to beat on them with just the force of his reiatsu alone (is translated into Bankai as well; it's not that I do this with my own reiatsu, it's still Kokuraimaru (no Kenshi) himself who does). When Kokuraimaru is in this form, Kokuraiko likes to sit either on his head or on his right shoulder.
Sealed Form: A daicho (Japanese long sword). The hilt of the sword is dark blue, 5 inches long with a black ray-skin under the hilt-wrapping. The cross-guard is circular, with a picture of multiple lightning bolts engraved into it. The blade of the sword is 8 inches long, coming out of a black collar. In the middle of the blade are inscribed two symbols; one being that of Raijū's face, and the other being that of three tomoe. The sheath is dark blue, with the kanji for "lightning" printed on the up-facing part in black color. For a reason that was unknown until Shikai, the sword doesn't seem to have much of a weight at all, and seems to require multiple slashes made at high-speed, as it doesn't have enough cutting power to deal a decisive blow in one slash.
Release Command Hikare to Shūgeki! Kokuraimaru! [光れと襲撃! 黒雷丸! (Flash and Strike! Dark Lightning!)]
Release Animation: I hold the sword in a guard stance and call out its Release Command and name. There is a loud thunder clap that can be heard, along with a flash of lightning coming from the sword, and in the next instant, the onlooker can see the following changes:
Appearance of Shikai:
Same daicho as the Sealed state, except with a 1 and a half inch longer dark blue blade coming out of a black collar, with the hilt also being one inch longer. The blade is made of electrically charged reishi that is in the form of a highly conductive metal, tampered to be extremely light (lighter than it was in Sealed State).
As the blade in Sealed State was being covered by an insulated material, the true nature of the blade was hidden and its weight was slightly increased. The Shikai sword still requires the wielder to execute multiple slashes done at high-speeds, as even though it is sharp enough to cut, it is still weaker in power than other swords but can allow for multiple slashes done at high-speeds, the damage of which accumulates to deal high amounts of cutting damage from the blade.
Abilities of Shikai:
This Zanpakutō has the power to control lightning, electricity and thunder (can create thunder as well). Whenever thunder is created, the tomoe and Raijū face symbols on the blade start to glow with a light that is a slightly lighter blue than the blade itself. When already existing thunder is controlled, only the face of the Raijū glows. The Raijū's face also glows whenever Kokuraiko is helping with the abilities to make them powerful or effective (depends on the nature of the ability).
As long as there are still protons and electrons in the surroundings within a radius of 2-3 inches from both me and the sword, the electricity on the blade will (almost) never run out.
Due to the make-up of the blade, when it cuts the opponent, it also delivers a ticklish-type shock.
Ability 1: Kokuraigeki [黒雷打] (Black Lightning Strike): When I want to use this ability, I have the electricity on the blade produce a strong static charge that is discharged as lightning from the tip of the blade. The power and amount of electricity on the blade, when using this technique, can be controlled at will, so that the lightning produced can be controlled.
Immediately after having used this attack, some of the strong electric charge will be left on the blade, and before it runs out (in 3-4 seconds' time), I'm able to use that to deal a bit more of a zapping effect than normal through my melee attack(s).
Ability 2 (Passive): Raipo [雷歩] (Lightning Step): This is an ability that I have due to the light weight of the sword, as well as the focus in high-speed melee attacks. I can't use Shunpo in conjunction with this. This is a variation of Shunpo that increases my running speed by that of lightning. In Shikai, I get a speed increase of half the speed of lightning in reality, even though it's called "speed of lightning".
Ability 3 (Active): Raiken [雷剣] (Lightning Sword): Whenever there is a thunderstorm occurring near me, and I'm close enough, I can take control over some of the thunder and lightning within it. I have my sword conduct the electricity from the lightning to strike at my opponent(s) with it from the sword, or have it strike them from where it already was to begin with. I can only do this to affect thunder and lightning within a 2 and half mile radius distance of me and my sword.
Name of Bankai: Kokuraimaru no Kenshi [黒雷丸 の 剣士 (Dark Lightning the Master Swordsman)]
Release Animation for Bankai: I hold my sword with one hand, pointed towards my opponent(s), and call out the words, "Ban Kai!" An almost deafening thunder clap is heard, and both my sword and I release a powerful torrent of reiatsu that looks like black lightning with a dark blue outline. When the lightning fades and my form is once again clearly visible, the appearance of my Bankai is seen. . . .
Appearance of Bankai:
In Bankai, the Zanpakutō splits into four parts; two gloves that reach up to right below the elbows and two unarmored boots that reach up to right below the knees. The gloves and shoes are both dark blue, and are made of the same electrically charged reishi as the Shikai blade; they are further tampered with than the sword's blade so that they are flexible enough for me to have full freedom and ease of movement in the parts of my limbs that the pieces of tampered metal are on. The Bankai also gives me a shirt and belt that are similar to the ones the Spirit wears in Bankai form. The same sword from the Shikai is also present, though the power and amount of control I have is greater/augmented (explained in detail a bit later). On the arm parts of the gloves are the same tomoe symbols as the blade; the inscription of the Raijū is now complete, showing a mini picture of a whole Raijū.
On my back appear the same three drums from the Spirit description, facing forward so that the three tomoe that are on the top of each of the drums show.
In Bankai, the dark blue outline looks almost pure black. This carries on to the shoes and gloves, making them also appear to be almost pure black, and the blade is also the same color due to being practically made of the same black lightning.
Abilities of Bankai:
The same abilities from the Shikai are carried over and powered up 5x. In Bankai, the electricity on my Zanpakutō can regenerate as long as there are still protons and electrons present in the surroundings within a radius of 5 inches around both me and my sword.
The gloves and boots, as well as the sword in Bankai, work pretty much the same as the Shikai sword on how to use the lightning attacks. The power and amount of electricity on the surface of the gloves and boots/shoes, as well as on the sword can now always be controlled at will at all times, and the potential voltage and the maximum power and amount of current is 5x greater when compared to Shikai.
The range of the "Raiken" technique's influence is increased in Bankai; it is now possible to control all of the thunder and lightning within any given naturally occurring thunderstorm.
The attacks I can use with this Bankai are possible with either my blade, my hand(s), and/or my foot/feet. I can use either of those at any given time for any of my electrical or lightning type attacks.
The "Raipo" ability is now able to literally increase my running speed that I augment with my reiatsu by that of lightning. It is still impossible to use Shunpo with Raipo.
The tomoe and Raijū inscriptions act up the same way, as well as on the same occasions, as in Shikai. Kokuraiko's help in making the abilities more efficient/powerful is also a greater.
This Bankai has two additional attacks; Attack 1: Kokuraigeki Jitai no Ni: Kuroi Arashi [黒雷打 代表 の 二: 黒嵐] (Black Lightning Strike Type 2: Black Storm): Basically, I turn existing clouds into cumulonimbus clouds through static energy build-up, then use my own spiritual energy to take control of the thunder and lightning. Thunderstorms created through this technique spread over a 6.5 mile radius around both me and the opponent in all directions (gets bigger as needed when fighting multiple opponents).
Attack 2: Kokuseiryokuhō [黒勢砲] (Dark Energy Cannon): This attack takes all of the electrons from either the sword or one of the gloves, compresses and condenses them, and then fires them at the opponent. Takes a few minutes to maybe a half an hour to regenerate all of the lost electricity.
