1)Not that hard to do actually. One just has to hide somewhere until the war blows over.

She proved she had no bias against anyone regardless their birth, got a smart-mouthed, wise cracking ZAFT pilot to wise up and shut his mouth, and was able to put aside the past and have a conversaiton with the very guy who killed her boyfriend. Okay, yes she did attack Dearrka but honestly, he provoked her and she was not in the state of mind to act rationally and ignore him. And then she saved the very guy she attacked from being killed in cold blood.

That would be Lucrezia Noin.

One of my personal favorites? Christina Mackenzie. She's not insane, psychic, naive to the point of stupidity, stupid, irritatingly cliche, absurdly skilled, arrogant, or useless. She's actually quite ordinary(except for the piloting a giant fucking robot), which to me is a big draw.
Plus she's cute.
