@nuttychemist - no we've never heard what ages each soul reaper is, so it's difficult to tell the difference in terms of age between hitsugaya and ukitake.

Very true... We have no clue how old Ol' man Yama is... he's got to be over 300 years old...
Has it ever been said whether Hitsugaya was born in SS or if he died and was sent to SS? I can't recall off the top of my head. I'm wonder if there would be a difference in aging between those born in SS and those not.

...and I can't find the page that referenced it, but IIRC is was suggested that Hits has only been a captain for 20 years or so. He could have been a Shinigami a lot longer, but captain specifically hasn't been very long.

Thanks for the references MMZ... I was drawing a blank... I knew that Yama, Ukitake, Shunsui and Unohana were all at least 200+, Yama is def. older than the rest... since he founded the Shinigami Academy.

Matsumoto was a shinigami before Hitsugaya... its the 2nd movie... I'm pretty sure thats where we find out that she was a shinigami first.

Needless to say Hitsugaya is the youngest captain in more than one way... age wise and time wise.... it'll be interesting to see if we get to see him grow even more. As Shunsui tells Stark, Hitsugaya is young and has a way to go in development. I'm still curious to see what Shunsui's shakai and bankai powers are :P

Kubo's not big on the 'love story' aspect, but do you think there will be any Hits/Hyori hook up?

It's a decent match if nothing else because they're the only 'chibi' shinigami/vizard around. They both enjoy yelling at each other lol, but Hyori does hate shinigami still.
