In the 1800's, there was a Japanese prodigy named Okita Soji. He began learning advanced sword fighting at the age of nine, and defeated a master swordsman by the age of twelve. He mastered every technique he was taught by the time he was eighteen. He died in 1868 of tuberculosis.
I was thinking: Wouldn't it be interesting if Toushiro Hitsugaya were the reincarnation of Okita Soji? The general age estimate of Hitsugaya (100-150 years) would just about fit the time that Okita died (130-140 years prior to Bleach storyline).
I think it's an interesting theory, what do you guys think?
well I like your theory, I have heard that Kubo likes to make his characters based off of historical figures, and he also like the shinsengumi, and thus I think it would be fitting to have hitsugaya based off of Okita Soji. But that's just my opinion.
and there also a manga and anime dedicated to the shinsengumi at the time of Okita Soji, it's name Peace Maker Kurogane.
here's a link to anyone interested.
