Well, truth be told I had a repulsed reaction (I'm looking for another word here but that's the losest I could get at the moment) for a while due to raving mad Orihime fans but then I got over it. For an out-of-context reference I almost started hating Domeki from xxxHolic because about 60/40% of the fanbase is banjo kazooiee on DouWata (a Yaoi) pairing. Then I realised the character was likeable even though his fans were vomit-inducing.

I find it kinda sad that her boobs are brought up all the time. ALL THE TIME. And they are used to justify everything, "she's better than rukia cos she got boobs" "She's interesting cos of boobs" "boobs orihime durrr derka derp" and so on. Then again I suppose giving extra attention for her cleavage tells more about the person mentioning them than you'd know..

There's certainly more to her than those secondary sexual characteristics, as lovely as they surely are. For example, for a series full of people who seem to derive power from being pompous assholes, she's a nice change in that she doesn't wish to insult and hurt anyone and is still earning her place in the story.

You're dead right. Her endowments are not the reason to respect Orihime. Naw, to be honest I know I come across as a mad fan boy at times, but in truth I like Orihime because she's so sincere, thoughtful and insecure. Out of everyone she cares the most and that's what's so attractive about her character. That plus she's so innocent that she actually doesn't know about how her breasts affect people. Contrast that to Matsumoto.
