Yeah, i'm not keen on Orihime bashing though the arts are relatively in character. Ulquiorra did say Yammy could kill Orihime and then later on, said she would die in the tower all alone.. and he was the only other person in the tower.

But of course -- Ulquiorra never meant either because he does truly love Orihime and every time he threatened her with her friends lives or her own he was showing his love for her.

As fans say, when he said "Come with me woman" it can also be translated to "Fall in love with me woman"

And he obviously meant the latter.

I always think it's funny when they try to pull that. Oh, Ulquiorra would never have hurt Orihime! He loves her too much! Except for the parts where he was threatening to kill her by breaking her skull open and ripping her heart out. But I guess that was just foreplay.

I've heard that one, too. Never mind that it's incredibly OOC for him and that it's not even the same kanji and that a bunch of words have the same pronunciation. Koi can mean 'come' or 'love' or 'fish'. Saying he wanted her to fall in love with her from that sentence is like saying he wanted to take her fishing.

Although I find the fishing bit more likely.

Anyways, I state why I dislike UlquiHime, yes? Yes. It's not that I'm anti for any of these characters (which would be why I hate IchiRuki). I love Orihime and Ulquiorra's okay. I'm just a huge IchiHime fan, so I don't take too kindly to any other ship with Orihime. Except yuri, of course. ^_^

I just don't like UlquiHime. It's too late to be canon now because, HELLO, GUESS WHAT! Ulquiorra died. Yeahp. Sorry, but it's the truth.

Pretty much - Asharia's offline for the day, so I'll poke her to add everyone to the list first thing tomorrow when I see her on.

One of the big reasons I hate UlquiHime is how the fanbase has built it up to be this amazing canon ship of canonness when... they've only spoken maybe three times, and all three times Ulquiorra was basically being mentally abusive to Orihime. Instead of acknowledging that and working from there, they make excuses for his behavior and say that he was just trying to make her stronger and all the horrible things he said to her were for her own good. Because Orihime is spineless and the only way she can have a spine is to be Ulquiorra's doormat. Since, as you know, women are only as strong or weak as the man they're with.

Really, it's not the ship I hate, it's the disgusting sexist shippers that like to excuse abusive relationships by saying abuse is okay as long as it toughens the woman up. Fuck that shit.

Maybe they misconstrued Ulquiorra's feelings toward Orihime in that one chapter... when he tried groping her as he asked where her heart was? Yeah, Ulquiorra's totally a smooth operator.

I think they misconstrue the word 'heart' all over the place to begin with. It doesn't mean 'romantic sentiment' in Japanese. It's interchangeable with 'soul', and the Aaroniero fight even beats you over the head with 'the heart is the bond you have with your friends'. For people who claim to study the manga as much as these losers, you'd think they'd remember that very important bit of information.

Ugh, exactly. And when they claim that they know what Kubo's thinking. A lot of fantards are at fault here; when they're so avidly in love with their ship that they play around with the author's words to get what they want. IchiRukitards love doing that; I supposed UlquiHime fans are no different?

Ulquiorra groped Orihime? Um, no. If anyone groped anyone, Gin recently groped Matsumoto before stabbing her. That was far more intimate then Ulquiorra's hand close to Orihime's chest. Not to mention saying "If I rip open your chest will I find it?" When talking about the heart. Totally romantic, no?

And I agree completely Mei Mei, all I see are people who makes excuses for Ulquiorr's character and how he treated Orihime. Grimmjow treated her better for cying out loud. He at least saved her from Loly and Menoly, despite breaking Loly's leg off and killing Menoly by blowing her to pieces, but saved her. Ulquiorra let Loly and Menoly maim her the second time, and didn't care whatsoever. If he was so concered about her, he should have told them to stop. But he never did. But because Ulquiorra looked back in their direction, it means he had real concern for Orihime? Yeah, right.

And honestly, I believe they misconstrued Ulquiorra's feelings for Orihime in general. I remember trying to discuss this pairing with a rabid Ulquihime fan and they started talking about the heart. I pointed out that in Bleach, the heart doesn't have any romantic sentiments linked to it. She bothered to tell me that in Ulquihime's case, it was. Um, what? So Kubo went out of his way to make the heart an exception between the two? Well damn, shouldn't that mean that Kaien loved Rukia when he left his heart with her, and that Orihime loves all of her friends romantically?
