Naruto (manga) is good.

naruto (manga) 1-514 was good, and like 15 pages of 515.

the last 3 pages were bad enough to turn me off entirely. resurrecting old enemies to fight is the laziest of all plot devices, and the wonderful thing about naruto to me is it didn't depend on lazy plot devices all that much up until now. people fought in matchups, and sometimes people died. there was a sense of finality to the series, and things have been building to something cool for a while now amongst all the people in the manga only to have everyone suddenly fight against the embodiments of evil.

this went from a cool manga with depth of character to 2-dimensional RPG tripe in an instant. a ninja war should have been ninja fighting other ninja... HUMAN ninja. now we have all ninja who suddenly get along fighting monsters. any sense of tragedy is GONE.

this isn't a ninja war. it's a war of humanity versus evil-lord dark oppressors who use the power of evil to resurrect eeeeviiiiiilll. the ninja war we were promised was all a lie. i should be watching naruto ponder the evils of ninja existence as they fight off an opposing ninja village. there's nothing to ponder here... this fight is entirely justified and therefore completely devoid of depth and the running theme of the horrors of ninja existence.

Srsly? Why didn't you feel this way in idk, chapter one when we saw this beast of destruction that could only be defeated by sacrificing the life of the strongest ninja in the village. It was obvious stuff was gonna get to a ridiculous level whe you got 12yr olds(yeah I said it again) trying to rip eachothers limbs off with some huge(actually minature sized) beast of hate and eeeeeeeeevil stored inside of him?

I think the fact that Kabuto didn't take total control of the resurrected characters will be a factor like maybe they will rebel against him

The point is the only time those differences are resolved are in the face of unambiguous evil. (As seen by the new headbands) What naruto's role is now is to make sure this union doesn't dissolve as soon as the conflict is over.

Its the same themes as pain v naruto (can we force people to get along? and is that any better) except now its playing out for real.

PS I do agree that bringing back villains is lazy but I think it will be interesting to see them confronted again now that the hero's (for the most part) have grown mentally and emotionally.

lol, kinda sucks for all the reasons that have been stated already. while looking at all those dead ppl was just thinkin that just with that we can already wait for another 5 years just so we can see the re-matches finished.

not to mention it just blows how many of the beast hosts have been killed right off the bat when they couldve served a lot better to this series alive, than as a zombie with no color whatsoever, literally as well.


i just think kishi needed a reason to kill a lot of people and if he can make zombies fight ninjas, then itll all work for the underaged audience. + zetsu clones? lol
