I'm calling BS on Soifon being faster the Yama. People take certain quasi titles way to seriously and no I don't care if you have 100 scans from the Manga stating your point. Shunsui performed a long distance shunpo that rivaled Starks feat that left Kenpachi+Ichigo shocked. Shunsui will have this fight over before taking off hat as per the reasons explained by the others like Pumpkin.

Even if Yoruichi was rusty, she was outspeeding Byakuya, a shunpo master, while holding a passed out Ichigo as well as Zangetsu at the same time. Yoruichi without such deadweight is obviously much faster, and even while rusty:
-She knocked out a huge group of special ops assassin in an instant leaving a shitload of clones as well, and the special ops is trained for speed, mind you.
-Her and Soifon immobilized Aizen in the hogyoku hill, and they both were dodging a fucking beam of light (Negacion) at the last second.
So even rusty, Yoruichi has the best speed feats outside trascendentals.
Soifon can fight well with a rusty Yoruichi (without deadweight) to the point Yoruichi had trouble to avoid the second sting on.
Note that in FKT Urahara was putting seals (sealing cuffs, sealing kido inside hado 91, etc) on Aizen without him noticing, and he could even pull the gigai trick on him surprising Aizen, and Aizen was transforming with the hogyoku. Yoruichi is faster than Urahara.
Aizen could blitz Shunsui, Shinji, Hitsugaya and a Soifon which was exhausted from Barraggan and Aizen fight, and she also had her guard off.
So in speed: Yoruichi > healthy Soifon > Urahara > half-transformed Aizen >> shinigami Aizen >>> Shunsui in speed. (With Shinigami Aizen casually blitzing a FKT masked bankai ichigo)

Yamamoto doesn't even need to fucking move. Ryujin Jakka would totally rape Soifon in every conceivable way without Yama even having to move an inch from the spot he released it.

I don't care how fast Soifon is, I care even less about how fast you or anyone else thinks she is. Speed is not everything, especially in a fight against Yama. What is the point of being fast when you can't even get close to the opponent, especially with Susumebachi. I assure you, simply trying to get close to Yama with his shikai activated would be a difficult task, probably even impossible. If Soifon can't get close, then her attack is pointless. On top of that, Yama could probably quite easily tank Soifon's bankai, afterall, he managed to absorb a colossal city-destroying explosion off his own Ennetsu Jigoku and live.

In the end power will win, and there is nothing we know in existance that is more powerful than Ryujin Jakka, nothing more than a single wave would be needed to burn Soifon to a delicate crisp.

As for the topic at hand, I still think Shunsui would win. Not only is he extremely intelligent, and probably the smarter tactician; he's probably also got a fearsome reiatsu and top-teir kido skills. Then there is the variable of his shikai, which can play any children's game it wants, when it feels like it. Its probably not restricted to just Kageoni, Takaoni and Irooni, because there must be hundreds more children's games for Katen Kyokotsu to exploit. Yeah, he's probably slower, but being able to hide in shadow's is pretty haxx and his Zanpakuto's potential for countless abilities will cause problems. It won't be an easy fight, but I reckon Shunsui would win if he keeps his distance and uses as many movement restricting bakudo as possible, along side his Zan's ridiculous ability.

1. Great, so we've established that the two characters who have the closest ties to her (outside of Urahara) both call her this affectionate/honourable nickname. Soifon was her bodyguard and friend and both were trained by her personally (at least Byakuya's shunpo was).

2. Debatable. Soifon does have good feats there is no doubt. Yamamoto's speed blitz on Allon would make me query it (that and the fact that Yama has been categorically stated to be the most epic of epic). And being faster by hype? Well, like I said, Yamamoto is the most badass of badass, I think that's pretty good hype. Not that hype actually counts for anything at all though.

3. Great, she knocked out a bunch of nameless, faceless grunts. Well done. And she didn't leave clones. She left blurred, insubstantial afterimages. Indeed, only a few of those were actually decent enough to look like her, most of them were just blur lines.

4. lol no. Aizen LET them get there. And I don't doubt at all that he could have gotten out of it if he had wanted to. In reality he probably wasn't even there at all, they had "captured" an illusion. And dodging a beam of light? You're saying it as if it's real world light. But it's not. It's MANGA energy light.

5. I don't really believe Yoruichi was genuinely trying. She negated Soifon's shunkou as if she was patting a five year old on the head. And obviously she didn't REALLY want to seriously fight to maim/injure/kill one of her closest friends.

6. As if this has anything to do with speed? Except speed of saying kidou chants lol?

8. As far as I am concerned this was Aizen using his illusions to make it look as if he was speed blitzing. It is a well known trick of his. He covers himself with an illusion to make it look as if he is still standing where he was, whilst attacking. Then lifts the illusion and it looks like it's happened instantly. He did it against both Komamura and notably Barrigan during the flashback, he lifted the illusion revealing all of Barrigan's followers to already have been killed, but it looked like the three of them had taken them all out in one fell swoop.

9. Omaeda is a fat egotistical idiot and it's probably worth more to you to ignore him. He also believed the Captains and Vice Captains still had their limiters on and they still had to release them, but in fact they were already operating at full power. Which tells me he can't even tell when he himself is operating to his full potential or to a percentage of that. Yeah, let's rely on him for information.

10. And nowhere was it stated that Yoruichi and Soifon have more speed potential than Yama. Not to mention you picked up the "shinigami have set limits" almost certainly from Aizen's speech he did on the Hill, and of course, as I've said once and will probably have to say many countless times again... what is Aizen characterised and, hell, even DEFINED by (through his ability)? ILLUSIONS. BULLSHITTING. LYING.

11. Yamamoto can punch a hole the size a basket ball through several feet of steel with his bare hand without anybody even seeing him and the victim (Allon) not even realising it/feeling nothing. Just sayin'... SUPER Sayin... lol see whut I did thar....

1. Got me there, I can't recall anyone else called her Shunshin. But the nickname still stands.

2. Kubo inted it trough the characters in manga canon, as well as in secondary canon (zanpakuto filler arc) in which he collaborated, and her speed feats are very good. Yamamoto was hyped to incredibly strong, in raw power he is pretty much above anyone else except for trascendental, but that doesn't mean he is suddendly the fastest not trascendental. I am not saying Soifon is stronger than Yamamoto, I'm talking about shunpo and speed here.
And while I think Soifon is faster, she is likely not so much faster than him, seeing how can outspeed two senior captains and wait for them sitting on a rock. They are probably close in speed.

3. The point is the number. She didn't defeat one-two grants, she defeated an huge number of grants, trained for speed and assassination, in a instant. I'll give you the point of the afterimage though.

4. Negacion has been portrayed as a light beam, like Yamamoto pointed out.

5. While Yoruichi likely didn't intended to kill her, she was surprised by Soifon newly acquired speed and she was having trouble dealing with it, being out of shape from not fighting in human form for 100 years. And Yoruichi shunko is much better than Soifon one.

6. The point is that Urahara was putting the reiatsu cuffs directly on his wrists and Aizen didn't even notice that at all- that's a feet of speed.
He was also able to pull the portable Gigai on him, which require an absurd reflexes and speed, and appearing behind him instantly while binding him with bakudo 61.

8. While he might have used KS, he's fast enough to blitz a masked bankai ichigo (with the new mask post-scarmask) without effort. And Ichigo's not under illusion, and he was watching the whole fight. He could have warned them (unless Aizen did fuck with their senses to avoid them from hearing Ichigo).

9. In the case of the limiter, sure he was proven wrong. But Soifon's great speed feats don't disprove the claim he did.

10. Aizen was experimenting on hollowification and such because he hitted his shinigami limits. While I don't take everything Aizen says for granted, it's pretty much clear from his intentions.

11. And Soifon can sting an internal organ through arrancar hierro from front and behind in the same exact place, to the point the arrancar could feel being hitted only once. That requires both incredible speed and high precision.
Yamamoto feat was good too.

They done various experiments on various breeds of dragons they collected from across the Lands of Perils, resulted in a vast amounts of dead bodies and corpses of dragons, which due to the unknown magical feats of the Blackwoods forest quickly dissolve and become one with the humus and mosses of the forest floor, not letting any foul odor and rotting flesh happen. Nevertheless, though insignificant compared to the amount of failures, the Blackshrouds succeeded in creating new breeds of dragons with unique, and some of them violent, traits and abilities. Legends tell that there were seven Dragons of the Mist. The last two, Jarkul Dramargahn and Haelyn Woodswyrm possesses abilities that at the end enables them to escape from the grasp of the mad alchemists and tried to lead the other five to freedom. Dramargahn created such an elaborate illusions and lured the alchemist to unlock the cages and bars for the dragons to go out and fly away. She then began to use it as goodnight storytelling to her younger and only son to teach him about friendship as an effort to put ideas in his mind that differences are not to be taken as a reason to hate, but to love and complete each other. A maid of the castle learned of the story, and began to tell it to her children, and the story quickly spread across the kingdom, and finally reached a certain fisherman lived on a peninsula just south of the city borders. Farharn Ban'nim recognized the story and the truth behind it from the two Waverunner Dragons found and owned by his daughter, who told him about distant friends of them whose fate was so similar, involving a group of dragons hunters, and the sinking of their ship as they tried to flee. The Ban'nim family then started to tell and spread the story confirming the original story told by the queen, and it finally reached the queen's court. Queen Mara then ordered Farharn to come and tell the story himself in front of her. Instead, the Ban'nim family took with them the two Waverunner Dragons to tell the story with crisp and clear details. The whole court was amazed, maybe due to the magical traits of the Waverunners when they told the story, and the tale became one of the early efforts in keeping and maintaining peace across the Lands of Perils. Every time people pass on the story, both listeners and storytellers can feel the emotions involved between Hakh'al Mumbadii and Marthil Hadad, thus gives them the urge to pass it on. Hakh'al Mumbadii Spoiler: Hakh'al Mumbadii was one of the deep sea dragons who was once colonized the seabeds of the calm Oceans of the Southshores. He was born with unique physical traits that forbid him to go to shallower depths. Thus, the dark and gloomy parts of the deep was all he had to live with. He had a friend, Marthil Hadad, who used to tell stories about the beauty of the surface world, and they shortly brought together to a bound of friendship for hundreds of years. Hakh'al died when he tried to help her from getting slaughtered by the Baardard Nikhim, a group of dragon slayers from the East. He decided to brave himself and swim to the surface to give aid to the distressed waterhorse dragon, and successfully made the dragon slayers fled for their lives due to his violent attack. Despite the efforts, Marthil Hadad already sustained mortal wounds and nearing death, while Hakh'al finally found out how cruel shallow waters could do to him. Their helpless bodies slowly sank to the depths of the sea. Marthil Hadad Spoiler: Marthil Hadad was a waterhorse dragon, usually seen prancing on the surface when ships and cruisers sailed the waters near her colony habitat. People found her unique behavior quite entertaining She had a friend, a deep sea dragon named Hakh'al Mumbadii, who loved to listen to her tales and stories about the beautiful life on the surface, because he was born with unique physical traits that made him unable to go near the shallower depths. Their friendship endured hundreds of years, and within those years she learned how to transfer her feelings telepathically, so she could describe the beauty of the sun's dawn to him, along with the warmth of its light. But humans' greed finally got to her, when the Baardard Nikhim, a group of dragon slayers from the East set sail to hunt down the pretty waterhorse dragon. People take certain quasi titles way to seriously and no I don't care if you have 100 scans from the Manga stating your point. Shunsui performed a long distance shunpo that rivaled Starks feat that left Kenpachi+Ichigo shocked. Shunsui will have this fight over before taking off hat as per the reasons explained by the others like Pumpkin.

Ryujin Jakka would totally rape Soifon in every conceivable way without Yama even having to move an inch from the spot he released it. I don't care how fast Soifon is, I care even less about how fast you or anyone else thinks she is. Speed is not everything, especially in a fight against Yama. What is the point of being fast when you can't even get close to the opponent, especially with Susumebachi. I assure you, simply trying to get close to Yama with his shikai activated would be a difficult task, probably even impossible. If Soifon can't get close, then her attack is pointless. On top of that, Yama could probably quite easily tank Soifon's bankai, afterall, he managed to absorb a colossal city-destroying explosion off his own Ennetsu Jigoku and live. In the end power will win, and there is nothing we know in existance that is more powerful than Ryujin Jakka, nothing more than a single wave would be needed to burn Soifon to a delicate crisp. As for the topic at hand, I still think Shunsui would win. Not only is he extremely intelligent, and probably the smarter tactician; he's probably also got a fearsome reiatsu and top-teir kido skills. Then there is the variable of his shikai, which can play any children's game it wants, when it feels like it. *Its probably not restricted to just Kageoni, Takaoni and Irooni,* because there must be hundreds more children's games for Katen Kyokotsu to exploit. Yeah, he's probably slower, but being able to hide in shadow's is pretty haxx and his Zanpakuto's potential for countless abilities will cause problems. It won't be an easy fight, but I reckon Shunsui would win if he keeps his distance and uses as many movement restricting bakudo as possible, along side his Zan's ridiculous ability.
