not so at all. The whole point made with Ichigo at the beginning of the series was that he had colossal amounts of reiatsu. I believe he was likened to a tap that was constantly turned on, gushing out spiritual pressure permanently.

When he fought Renji in the street when we first met Renji, Ichigo's spiritual pressure was high enough to completely catch Renji, a VC, off guard, so he had plenty. But he didn't have the speed or finesse at all. Nor the control (to shrink his sword down/seal it), and I think Renji even commented on how rough his technique was.

You are right but in the end didn't Ichigo with his lack of knowledge and technique overpower Renji...

After he was trained by Urahara and learned how to seal his sword in shiki, that's when he overpowered Renji.

Because Renji was fighting at 20% at that particular moment.

You know I couldn't make a chart like this because I would be too biased but I definitely know that Aizen and Yama are definitely at the top.

Still thats 20% of a vice captain who has been a soul reaper for a long time and been trained for a long time, getting overpowered by someone who has been a soul reaper for less then a few months...

Uh, pumpkin, my point was that when everyone has a good abillity to use (control) their reitsu that trait becomes increasingly less important. By the way, Renji lost that fight because Ichigo got a reitsu burst.

Edit: the point being is that no-skill shouldn't be compared to good-skill.

Aizen said it straight, battles between Shinigami are battles of SP ... I doubt he was lying about that, as nobody in the scene commented as such ;)

He might've been exagerating though, seeing as he was light years beyond everyone else a the scene.

I believe that you cant truly categorize so vaguely, I would have to say(of the current captains) if it came down to raw power, it would be: 1. Zaraki 2. Yamamoto 3. Komamura. If it were based on skill and experience: 1. Yamamoto 2. Byakuya 3. I would have to tie 3rd with Mayuri and Kyoraku. And lastly Zanpaktou: 1. Sui Feng's Suzumebachi, only if used right, which sui feng cant do =/ 2. Byakua's Senbanzakura 3. Toshiro's Hyorinmaru,
