exactly. even if i used to be friends w someone on facebook, the large percentage are now acquaintances, my friends are people that i see, phone or email.

I think most people don't understand what a true friend is. i have few. But I keep them close.

Someone who will be there for you. They tell you what you need to hear. NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. They know you truly personally good and bad. Watch your back. Don't hesitate to give you a hand (as long as you are not taking advantage of them)
Most importantly you would do the same for them.

Even if over the net. You can get close to someone. IF they are honest. Meeting up will happen in time. Keeping in touch is all that matters.

Gas is expensive and people get married and lives move apart. You can go back to a true FRIEND a year later and the only reaction you get is a welcome greeting.

I DON'T confuse friends with acquaintances. Nor do I collect them like some tally of a score sheet. I think that you need to have respect for a friend
