Says a guy who has never needed an animal. Your clearly narrow view of the world needs enlightening. How about a soldier home from Iraq, that just had his legs amputated, and has no family here. He is given a small puppy that helps him find a reason to get up every day, and it essentially helps him find the reason to beat depression, depression that had him on the verge of suicide.
Essentially in that man's eyes that dog loved him when no one else would/could. It is more important to him than you will ever be, and you are suggesting that the dog isn't that important? The dog has done more than you for humans, so IMO I would put it's importance above you, so does that mean I shouldn't call 911 if you are having a heart attack?
Just keep in mind people, not everyone's mind is wired 100% correctly, and animals help them many times to socialize, and sort of reset the clock. To write off the animal as just some pet, when it may clearly be more is fucking stupid. ALSO I know this town, I lived there for 23 fucking years, no one died due to this, there are at least 10 ambulance houses in this town.
A fine will do. A fine for the time wasted is the proper response and is all someone needs in a time like this. Fuck, jailing someone and wasting taxpayer money for misusing 911 ambulance service. No wonder our governments are over budget. We are worried about jailing for this.....Lets keep it in perspective people.
